OK Military families: Listen to the Republicans as they spin to blame your
children and excuse the military leadership and Bush from responsibility for the prisoner abuses. This is the real Republican party. See it live on CNN, MSNBC. They talk a good game about supporting the troops until it is a choice between themselves or the peons in the service.
Every Congressperson who seeks to spin responsibility away from the administration and toward the soldiers should not get your vote!!!

1. Nice thought
but the only Republicans that end up here are the wacked out Freepers anyways so this message is kind of in the wrong place. :)

Nice idea though.

4. Darrell Issa is doing it right now on CNN
He's an asshole. He keeps talking over Ellen Tauscher, and Blitzer just lets him go on and on.

10. And you are saying what?
You actually don't think the people who ACTUALLY COMMITTED THE ACTS are responsible? That's insane! It's reasonable to place blame in other places as well but to direct it away from the animals themselves is completely wrong.

11. Get a clue!
If you have to start your post with a "And you are saying what?" it's inadvisable (and possibly INSANE!!) to follow that by telling the person what they meant.

13. Say something of value
What is use is playing games that have nothing to do with the subject?

Oh and BTW, I actually did ask more about the view before calling it insane (and if I must explain because you evidently don't get it, that conclusion I drew was rather obvious).

Was there any other point to that post of yours?

14. They aren't "animals"--they're human beings.
That kind of dehumanization is what leads to torture. Of course they should face the results of their deeds.

But most of us doubt the enlisted men & women in those pictures were operating in a vacuum. Several generals apparently wanted the detainees "softened up" before questioning. Who began this policy? How high up does it go? What about the role of non-military "contractors"? Who conveyed the "new" rules for handling prisoners to the enlisted personnel? Aren't there several layers of command between them & the generals?

"Following orders" is not acceptable when the orders violate the Geneva Convention (or human decency). But we need to find out who gave the orders.

12. No...they're gearing up to blame Democrats
and "liberals". Already they're checking into the political persuasions of those involved in leaking information. They're not as concerned with the acts of abuse as they are in getting back at those involved with getting the information out.
