Bush wants 25 billion dollars. No no and HELL NO
If President Spendthrift wants more money here's a few things he can do. Raise taxes on the rich. I'm sure the suck-blood parasites can cough up some chump change out of their dog-beauty parlor money. SCRAP the star-wars program. It doesn't even work. It can't hit it's targets without "homing" devices to help it along. Cut all of the faith-based programs. The "faithful" are supposed to be getting their money from God not the taxpayer. Repeal the "death tax" and then raise it. The only good thing about the rich is that they DIE. Taxing them when they die is even better. Close the military bases in Germany and Japan. WWII is over. Fire the mercenary's and hire more troops (with a raise) The for-profit-killers are too expensive and too evil. FIND THE TRILLION DOLLARS THAT'S MISSING FROM THE DOD. These are just a few good ideas. If the spineless Dems give him any more money for his stupid war. I'm going to have a heartattack.

1. We'll authorize the $25 billion, but only to make the troops safer...
...and to start bringing them home immediately.

3. Making an exception for this post . . .
Edited on Mon May-10-04 11:46 AM by Tina H
I usually find rant threads to be counterproductive and boring.

This one is an exception. well said!

question: when it refers to the death tax, does this post mean "reinstate inheritance tax"? wasn't clear to me

4. He could have a fundraiser. That is the only thing he can do with any
success.

Or, he could put on a benefit and Dennis Miller and Ben Stein can be the emcees. I am sure they could find a couple of bands to book.

5. What happened to the 87 million they just got?
They were supposed to buy armor for the troops but they didn't. That isn't what's going on here. The BFEE is looting more money and it has to stop. Kerry already called them crooks and liars. He needs to say it LOUDER. They're the fucking mafia. It's NOT for the troops. I'm sick of that lie.

14.  If Representation Begats Taxation
Then we owe them nothing. Nothing for nothing can mean something!
The alternative can be a Million Gun March. I choose non violence by not feeding the Chimp and his gang of chumps.

13. The $25 billion is not the issue...
...It's 25 billion to get him through the election.

They didn't want to ask for a penny until the Chimp got four more years. They screwed up. Turns out buying the "hearts and minds of the Iraqi people" was not adjusted for inflation.

It's $25 billion to get them through November.

They "have no idea" of what fiscal year 2005 is going to cost. They damn well know, but won't reveal the number to the public until they can use it as a "we are protecting you from terra" opportunity.

So the issue isn't "let's not give them the $25 billion," it's "what will the next request be if Bush gets four more years?"

Do you think asking for the 25billion now is a diversionary tactic
so we'll talk about that instead of the torture scandal?

failure.

20. Well, it's definitely a diversionary tactic...
...but I don't think it's connected to the torture scandal.

I think it's more like the movie "Fargo" where William H. Macy is telling the married couple he's going to "knock $100 off the price" of the "Tru-coat" undersealant they already said they didn't WANT on their new car.

So Dubya's little occupation will "only" cost another $25 billion...until November.

Compared to what has already been spent on the war, $25 billion doesn't sound anywhere near as horrifying as the "written estimate" we'll see for fiscal year 2005...IF Bush gets "four more years."
