Pamela Anderson Rocks the Vote
The question is...is she a Dem?

Anderson Waves American Flag
Actress Pamela Anderson, a native of Canada, became an American citizen Wednesday after being sworn in during a brief ceremony in Los Angeles, Reuters reports. "I felt it was important to become a U.S. citizen in order to vote in the United States," Anderson said in a written statement. "U.S. citizenship will allow me, in the future, to petition to bring my children's grandparents down to the United States to care for them once they become older. I have no intention of giving up my citizenship in Canada and am very proud to be a Canadian."

1. Wait a sec
A person I know who holds dual US - Canadian citizenship said that the treaty says that if a dual citizen votes in one or the other country, the other citizenship is lost. Was he bullshitting me?

2. Don't know, doesn't make sense to me.
I have a friend who was in the USMC and he said three of his friends were dual citizens of both Canada and the United States while serving. I would figure that that would revoke citizenship in one or the other more than voting.

3. Yes, one would
imagine that would be so. At any rate, if Ms. Anderson's actions and public words compel someone to register and vote, that's a good thing.

Oh, and Pamela? Welcome to America! :-)

4. You definitely will NOT lose Canadian citizenship if you vote in the U.S.
I'm not sure about the other way around.

6. Hmm...
Thanks for the info. The person I am referring to is intelligent and politically aware. I wonder why he said that... maybe he is misinformed, but that just doesn't feel right...

8. Pamela Anderson Is...Weird
The police had to be called to several Ky Derby "invitation-only" parties in 2003 to "escort" her off the premises and I heard alcohol was only a small factor.

Let me say a PETA member confronted the CEO of Kentucky Fried Chicken...and several others that evening.
