Him and Biden are very eloquent in their critisms. All too often at DU Realists like Biden and Schumer get slandered as Neocons and I think that that is really unfortunate. Schumer is using the word "neocon" to bash the ideologues who the term really applies to.

1. Don't know about Shumers history, but Biden's criticism is a bit

belated if you ask me. He supported the war wholeheartedly, and everytime I have heard an attack on them from him it is from the right. Saying we need more troops or whatever. I think the dems who supported the war have bad judgement, and that bad judgement should be remembered. I think the Dems that knew better should be the true leaders of the party.

3. "Supported the war wholeheartedy" Biden-Lugar was an example of
just how wrong you are on that. Realist democrats supported getting inspectors in and exhausting diplomacy, which Biden-Lugar was a big part of, hardly supporting Bush and the neocons wholeheartedly. "the war" is a very ambiguous term. It was a complicated process which ideologues on both sides can't seem to understand.

4. He ultimately voted for the war without completing inspections

. He didn't want to exaust diplomacy. Dems that didn't vote for IWR deserve more resprect. They have better vision than those that did. The ones who knew better are the true realists. They knew eneough not to trust Bush.
