Horton ultimately lost the race to Rep. Kenneth Green, D-Hartford. The
two incumbents faced one another because of redistricting in the 1st House District.

REP. HORTON SUPPORTS FUTURE CHEFS FIGHTING HUNGER IN FARMINGTON
State Representative Barnaby Horton (D-Hartford) announces his support for the students of Connecticut Culinary Institute who will be holding a dinner fundraiser on September 28, 2002 at 5:30pm at the school’s Farmington campus. All proceeds will be donated to End Hunger Connecticut, Inc.
“I am anxious to support Future Chefs in their efforts to fight against hunger,” said Rep. Horton. “It is our goal to educate families on how to progress beyond the food pantry toward self-sufficiency.”
Connecticut Culinary Institute students will create an dinner consisting of a jazz cabaret and photography exhibit “Faces of Hunger” in support of End Hunger Connecticut, Inc. The dinner will raise awareness and funding for solutions to eradicate hunger.
This event will take place at the Connecticut Culinary Institute Café, Talcott Plaza at 230 Farmington Avenue on their Farmington campus.
