How many DUers out there have produced info flyers and distributed them?

1. I suggested DU host a section for doing this some time ago...

But we all thought we should wait until we had a nominee. Well, since by all practical purposes we do, now is the time to begin.

Afterall, we have DU-ers in every state. We could even encourage our meetup participants to do so?

And put copies under the windshield wipers of some cars at the grocery store......does this count?

I don't know if anyone will read it, but it's been my experience that people get totally fired up when they read that guy's column.

10. Hats off to the activists among us.

I did this back in 2002, worked my fingers and printer to the bones. Places fliers in Wal-Mart parking lots, K-Marts, Sams, churches, and supermarkets. I don't know if it did any good but I hope so. I'm seein quite a few bumper stickers in a known conservative area of PA.

Other things to do.

If your town has free A&E weeklies, open the box and include free flyers with the top 4-5 papers. Ditto Today's Careers, Rental Housing, etc.

I work swing-graveyard, and sometimes when I get a gas fill, our daily regular newspaper bundle is left outside the minimart. Stick some freebies in here, too.

Laundromats are good, also used bookstores. Public restrooms.

When I pay bills and make donations to organizations, I used to stick Kucinich literature in them. General 'educational' flyers can be mailed this way also. I've actually had a couple of people write me back after receiving them.

A cheap easy thing to do--how many Business Reply envelopes do you get? I put educational flyers in every single one of them and mail them back (general rule--no money inside, no return address either).
