How much of this rage can people withstand ?
Just when we thought people were recovering from the shock of the last episode of photos from Abu Graib prison, new photos come out that are even more shocking. People here at DU are enraged and there is no reason to believe that much of America is not likewise enraged. How much can people take before they blow?

Of course, this nation has been enraged and angry since the day that George W Bush took office. He did nothing to try and quell those feelings. One of his first acts was to sign some type of anti-abortion order. He has not gone one day without dividing our nation, with the possible exception of 9/11.

The nation is in a very unhealthy state of mind. The person in charge at some time or another has to step up and accept some responsibility. It will take us at least an entire generation to recover our reputation and our previous standing, moral or not, in the world. Today we are angry at our government and our leaders . What will we be tomorrow?

2. We do not need another WTC we have Bush and Co .
Osama seems to have won, taking down the USA from his cave, with Bush and Co.help. Would any one in their right mind think Osama would have had such luck?

4. 9/11 was not really an exception
He was practically nowhere to be found that day after he heard about the attacks (and did nothing). More alert--and less panicked--people realized this.

5. Unfortunately, Kentuck, not everyone believes the photos. Talked to
my Repug sister-in-law the other night, and she can't stand Bush because she says he's spending too much money and she doesn't like the debt, but she said the photo's of prisoner abuse are fake. She says, "I don't go along with faking pictures, that's just wrong." I said "what pictures are faked?" She said "all the pictures, are just made up." I said, "are you talking about some British photos?" She said, that she didn't know if they were British or what but that they are fake.

I didn't know what else to say to her. I didn't ask her where she gets her news, but I wondered if some right wingers on Faux are saying that the photos are all fake.

She's a college graduate, lives in Boston. The weird thing is she said she thinks she will vote for Nader or stay home, because she doesn't like either Chimp or Kerry. "Go Figure."

What if people have tuned out the photos. Think they really are a Dem plot to hype it and so they aren't angry like we are. What do we do then?

6. Did you ask your sister-in-law why the WH, pentagon, and others
were not denying their authenticity? If they were really fake, wouldn't they be quick to denounce them as such?

She may be in deep denial, but somehow I think she really knows better....

9/11 because my neice lives in NYC. She was all for going into Afghanistan, but wasn't as sure about going into Iraq. My sense, without getting too much into it (I have to be careful because I'm so anti-Iraq Invasion and Bush, I can start to rave), but my sense is that she feels if there are terrorists we have go after them, and she thinks that if Bush though Iraq had terrorists then "maybe" we should have gone in there. Like most Repugs, unfortunately, she doesn't seem to want to believe Chimp is run by neo-cons and trying to explain the "neo-cons" to most folks out there in America whether Repug or Dem isn't easy. They immediately think you are a conspiracy theorists and are telling them stuff that's boring. At least that's been my experience out there. Even the two liberals in the family don't want to hear about "neo-cons" and Challabi, and what really happened that got us into this mess. They sort of tuned out and while they are upset over Bush and the war, they don't seem to want to think about all the implications.

I don't know if my experience with family and some friends is isolated to just my circle. But,there are people I don't even talk to since "The Selection" because our political differences have gotten in the way of friendships. Maybe some of them or upset, but not enough to call me and say, OMG you were right about Bush.

11. It's gonna be either "Revolution" or "Implosion." What do you all think?
I don't see any "inbetween." And, believe me, I would always look for the "inbetween." Being a "female" and all that....we try to compromise..:D If :D isn't offensive in the dreadful times we live in...:-(
