The real cost of the Iraq mess: The better things we could be doing.
Think of the good we could be doing with the time and money spent on this completely unnecessary exercise in stupidity in Iraq.

Health Care. Poverty. Energy Policy. Economic Growth. Unemployment. AIDS research. Social Security reform. Environmental policy.

Instead we will be remembered for Iraq.

1. I was just thinking today how much better it would be . . .
if all those troops in Iraq were instead helping to maintain peace and delivering humanitarian aid in Sudan and other countries in Africa where there is great suffering . . . I know it would make me feel a hell of a lot better about this country . . .

3. What if one of those dead in Sudan was the next Einstein?
We'll never know now.

5. Yep - at least 120 billion so far - just for the war itself.
200 billion with everything else factored in - plus an additional 1.4 billion each and every week the war continues.

Let's see - that is 4 BILLION dollars from every state on average.

That's chump change . . .

I mean at a billion dollars per year you could only hire 4 teachers!
