From the Wilderness: Bush IS Toast!
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 12:16 AM by TruthIsAll
All you naysayers, remember this thread from July 2003, when the Wilson/Plame story broke?

I said it then. I will say it again.

2. Denial is a river in evil doer country

* is so far past denial, he has floated into the middle of the
bloody med.

They will deny and stall and GWB will be the nominee and candidate.
I would bet my remaining life's savings on it. Unless we have photos
of Bush at the Neverland ranch.

4. not even close
Just more wild imaginations running amok.

He will be the nominee.

And hopefully meet the fate of his father - a failed one-termer.

But it ain't over 'til it's over.

When you see "Bush Is Toast", take it with a grain of salt - there is NO impeachment pending.

We have to get rid of Bush much more conventionally - at the ballot box, touchscreens be damned.

Just wishing I had a penny for every "Bush Is Toast" post based on a dubious source.

Doing my part to keep false hopes from getting too high... a cynic never rests.

I thought you were a Zappa fan, this isn't a music thread though-don't tell me you don't know what's happening in realpolitik ZW.

A counter-coup and a free election in November aren't incompatible.

Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 12:19 AM by Cleita
The only way he wouldn't be the nominee is if he met with an unfortunate and fatal accident. Cheney, of course wouldn't run for health reasons. So would this pave the way for a nomination of Ashcroft?

Weird you say? What hasn't been "through the looking glass" weird in the last three years?

No Repukes please never again. McCain will only follow the R party line, which translates to fascist anyway you look at it.

16. Didn't say I'd prefer him over Kerry
But he sure will get more support than Bush has been getting lately... Some of those conservatives that are voting for Kerry just to vote against Bush will cross over back, and McCain won't be acting like the fascist we know Bush to be, he'll be acting like a moderate, at least until the first day on the job...

I don't care how poorly Bush is doing, it is *NEVER* over until it's actually over.

Yes, Bush is in bad shape, and based on his poll numbers' patterns throughout his term, if there's no wild card event we are quite likely to defeat him. That is a huge "if," though. I'm fully prepared for some sort of October surprise.

You don't seriously think the RW'ers are going to just roll over and give up like that, do you?

If Bush is toast, it will be because we work hard all the way to the very end to make sure he's toast. That means we need to continue donating whatever we can to Kerry, in the form of money and/or personal time. We absolutely do NOT have the luxury of getting complacent and letting our guard down.

ON EDIT: Okay, I finally read the From The Wilderness link, and I think I understand the gist of your post better. But I am not holding my breath that the GOP will replace Bush/Cheney with someone else. To do so would be to basically admit that they fucked up, and Bush is still quite popular among a section of the American population. I think it would be a stake in their black heart for this election.

17. Sometimes I'm amazed at
the naivete of some posters here. Thanks, ZombyWolf for posting sensibly. Those who think that the Republican Party will turn against W simply have no understanding of party politics. Not that I'm any expert, but party loyalty is fundamental to those who work their way up their party's hierarchy. Which is why an elected official changing parties is so rare and so newsworthy.

W, so long as he's breathing, will be the nominee. So will Cheney. Not to mention (as I've posted over and over) these people came to power in a coup, and will stop at nothing to stay in power. In a free, fair, and honest election John Kerry (or any of the others originally running for the nomination) would be elected. But we probably won't have a free, fair, and honest election. I can think of many ways to steal the election for W, and I'm not someone who spends my entire day working on this, nor do I really know all the nefarious things that can be done.

I well remember the confidence on this board two years ago that Democrats would take back the House and/or the Senate.

23. I will bookmark this post and your "naivete" quote...Did you read Ruppert?
Oh, and the Dems WON the Senate in 2002. At least 4 races were stolen from them.

That's why you never got to see the exit polls. They would have proved it. So the Repukes at VNS shut them down on election day.

22. That is a must read. Incredible. Bigger than Watergate.
I'm just shocked that our government is so incredibly corrupt from the Supreme Court allowing this small man, Bush, to become the leader of the free world by appointment, to all the executives who have turned a blind eye to allow this to happen. And then to watch Bush subversively destroy this country in every way, sickens me to no end. After all the bloodshed of the many years, our forefathers and sisters who died for our freedoms and continue to do so, could be taken down in three years to the lowest levels of humanity imagined is mind boggling to me. Bush and his whole gang of unpatriotic, traitor thugs should certainly hang for treason as a lesson for any political figure attempting to betray our country again. And I mean HANGED in front of the WH for all American's to see as well as the world, this is what happens when you betray a country.

25. Hanged
That's what it will take to end, once and for all, the Raygoon era of false Americanism. All this shit started with Raygoon, ya know. He taught the pukes that you can lie lie lie and get away with it. It is a very radical group of people we have running America and only a radical solution will end the regime, once and for all.

30. TIA: I have been remembering your July 2003 thread since Bush* got
lawyered up. I said to myself: "DANG! That was vision."
I sure hope we find some leftover honest people during the investigation so that it can become reality.

By the way thanks for all your wonderful research and contributions to DU.

Some of the better DUers have left since last year and I miss their contributions at lot. BUT YOU HAVE STAYED THE COURSE!!! (this is the type of staying the course we need).
