3. I'm watching Regis and Kelly instead of news. I saw a great
behind the scenes on Shrek and Shrek 2 on VH1 yesterday. I've been listening more to AAR. Checkin out different stuff.

4. I'm watching Ocean's 11
Then after this I might put on This is Spinal Tap or O Brother Where Art Thou.

Life is too short.

5. Reagan's death has been a positive for me
I know, a horrible thing to say. I don't mean his actual death - I refer to the media coverage of. I was actually going to post on this today.

Because of the over saturation I have stopped listening to the radio (talk, MPR, etc) and stopped watching TV. I never want to hear, "...Tear down this wall" again in my life!

Instead, I have been listening to music. Lottsa music. Nice to get away from the media for a bit! Maybe Reagan should've died more often. uh, nevermind.

6. I actually switched from C-Span (for God's sakes) in the early
morning to AAR. Aaaaaahhhhhhh...
But I resent that I cannot even have whatever C-Span provided not only to liberals but to the population in general being totally polluted by this Reagan diarrhea.

7. I know - C-Span had actually had "some" good stuff on the last
couple of days but that has all gone bye-bye now.

8. I hope this causes a noticeable ratings dip
for the cable news networks. I haven't turned on CNN once since last week, and I'm sure there are many others who are similarly sick of the 24/7 Reagasm.

Reagan's death is a big story, but it's a one day big story.. Maybe two. Get over it CNN.

18. New Iron Chef's
I'm doing food channel too this week- I like to have TV on for company while I'm working and the news (what's usually on) is way too annoying with all the RR hoopla. Plus the new Iron Chef's are on at 11 for bedtime company.

20. Same here.
The Food Network is a good alternative unless Emeril Lagasse or Rachel Ray are on. What ever happened to "A Chef's Tour"? Did the host fall off a bar stool or something? That was my favorite show.

11. I haven't watched cable news since Desert Storm
I was a scud spud back in the first Iraq "war" and felt so drained and awful after that that I've never looked back. I can just imagine what the Reagasm is like, and my imagination is good enough (bad enough?) that I don't need to see the real thing.

12. Ordinarily, at this hour, I'm at my computer anyway - going through
email, writing stuff, and yes, checking in HERE. So I'd be here in any event.

But no, I have NOT been watching a lot of TV since Saturday. Kids have kept me busy, school's getting out, so there are lots of loose ends, my mom's in the hospital again, and frankly, we can HEAR plenty of what's going on. We're here in L.A., so whatever's gonna be leaving the Reagan Library by way of Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station will fly right over our house. We've heard numerous military fly-overs in the last few days. ENOUGH, already. But I OD'ed on him WAY more than 24 years ago. I was here in California when he was governor, and granted, I wasn't old enough to be really politically aware, no less very active yet. But I still knew enough to realize that something smelled...

I've been blissfully detached from all that. Not like I'd miss anything. I mean, we ALL know how it ends. I MIGHT watch some of the pageantry on Friday, just to see how badly bush botches up his speech. But that's a big "MIGHT." Got lots of other things to do that day, anyway.

13. Raising my hand. I usually have the TV on while typing at DU.
Today, I am playing some of my old tapes of 70's and 60's music. Damn, it sounds so good. I forgot how much I liked Gordon Lightfoot and BJ Thomas and all those wonderful folks at Mowtown.
