For clarity, Clinton and Carter are good guys and that is a big difference
For those who are concerned about truthful comments about Reagan, the issue is that people feel that the truth should not be suppressed. Clinton and Carter were good men who tried their best, though they were sometimes misguided or sometimes underestimated the Republicans or the CIA (as happened with Carter). Anyone, who years from now, tires to change history is trying to change history. The Freepers cannot reality. Reagan did a lot of really bad things, mostly because he didn't know what he was doing. He destroyed health care, Social Security (under him postal workers lost theirs), and health care and gave kids and people nightmares about WWIII. He was the head of the age of selfishness and inhumanity - though Bush is giving it a comeback.

5. Clarification
Most of Reagan's policies were based on hope, fancy, deceit, and illogic. In other words, ideology.

Reagan had little command over facts, issues, reality, and the finer points of government. What little he had during his first term gradually leaked away during the second. You can't tell me he didn't have Alzheimer's long before 1994.

What Reagan did have, and what accounted for his success, was a strong command of rhetoric and a basic ideology, no matter how poorly based in fact it was.

It was here that Reagan knew exactly what he was doing. He played the part of President with skills honed over many years. Much of the script was written by a strong and loyal support staff but Reagan did do some of the directing based on an ideology that he developed over the years and integrated into the Republican platform.

Reagan's scripts played well on Main St and the show got rave reviews.

3. Both are at least decent fathers
If nothing else, look to how decent a man is to those he loves.

Boy and that Nancy sure did a lot for this country too, didn't she! She saved the china pattern of the United States from ruin. And then when it was personally expiedent she became all concerned about stem cells.
