Why is the crowd applauding the funeral procession?
If I remember correctly, you could have heard a pin drop during Kennedy's.

1. Because they're conservatives
They don't know how to act in social situations.

4. Applauding for Nancy ..

Irregardless it was NOT appropriate given the situation.

I was struck that the crowds were only 12 deep where the carriage was being loaded. LIke I said before, the crowds seem pretty light as compared to Kennedy's procession.

8. Yuck... people have no decorum!
I don't care whose funeral it is. Applauding is crazy seeming, to me at least. Do grieving widows generally generate applause?!?

9. People applauded in 1994
when the casket came out of the church with Jackie Kennedy's body.

It was strange, but people were showing their effection that way.

10. Oh My god!
I have been ignoring the Regasm (thanks DU!), but I cannot believe that people were applauding! I was in London during the funreal of the Queen Mother, and the crowds were totally silent out of respect. Do the rethugs have any common respect, decorum, and common sense!

14. I was really impressed by the social etiquette of the republicans
who booed President Clinton at George W. Bush's inauguration. Miss Manners was proud of Republican Trent Lott commenting that maybe Sen. Clinton would get struck by lightening before she took office. I also get the Emily Post book out when Repulican Ann Coulter accused Sen. Cleland, a triple amputee war veteran, of getting shot en route to a beer party. I guess we Democrats have a lot to learn about manners from the fine example set by the Republicans. Thanks for the manners lesson.

15. Sorry, those were not Dems cheering that Ronnie was dead
Those were inappropriate Americans who are just plain boorish and stupid. They thought that that is the way you honor a dead person during a solomn ceremony. But then again, it's the same crowd that got liquored up and cheered our boys into Iraq on our holy war. Since they couldn't find WMD's, I guess they decided a dead president was a good substitute to cheer.

21. Look at what the prick posted on another thread:
"Whenever I want a fence sitter to vote for Bush. I will send them to these forums. The lack of compassion and respect for the office of President... is staggering.

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

-Dave"

This stupid prick has the nerve to say Dems lack compassion and respect for the office of the presidency. I guess he was in a fucking coma during Clinton's presidency. I tell ya, these repukes are suck hypocrites. But, at least the prick can spell!
