I hate to be a party pooper, but this whole shebang on the television right now is a teeny bit ostentatious.

2. I saw that figure for just the city of DC on Yahoo
but it will cost a bunch more if you count the federal costs.

I'm all for a state funeral for a fallen President (at least RR was legally elected fair and square) but a whole freaking week is a bit much!

3. Reagan's total salary for his presidency would have been $1.6M
Ironic that they're spending more on his funeral.

4. Well, he cost us $2.6 trillion when he was President...

8. All the military/pentagon/war-profiteering government contractors
were sent to the funeral with PAY...to make the crowd look a little bigger (notice the ALL-WHITE crowd in a city that is 85% BLACK !....

in addition, bush* has told ALL Federal employees that they are OFF WORK for a whole day tomorrow....and that has to cost more like TENS OF MILLIONS...

and all while they haul the casket through streets where THOUSANDS OF VETERANS LAY HOMELESS !!!! There are now over 18,000 homeless in DC, 60% are OUR Veterans....if bush* had cut back even a little bit, then he would have had plenty of money for job training, counseling and medical care for the homeless that lay right outside the White House (should bush* ever walk outside the WH to see the horrible amount of suffering and pain caused by himself...

10. If we're paying per hour...
we're going to get robbed! Look at how long they're dragging this damn thing out. It's already past prime time, and they're still going! Sigh, repugs will take unfair advantage of anything. They're turning a funeral into a joke by getting as much "face time" as they can.
