Racial element to the Iraq "war"
I think a large segment of USA's society couldn't care less about the differences in the Arab world from one country to the next.

So many duped and uneducated people just look at the region as "all the same". Bu$h could whip up support for going in, based on 9/11, due to the fact that the average Joe/Jane just has no clue as to the geopolitical history of the region.
Average Joe/Jane could just not be "bothered" with those details and was just looking for a "cowboy" to go kick some "raghead" ass as 'revenge'. Bu$h's pseudo Texas image played right into Average Joe/Jane's delusional-racist payback dream. You can read it in AJ/J's response in discussion groups. They respond to criticism of the occupation by proclaiming, "You are forgetting that over 3000 American's were killed", as if that justifies Iraq.

While blaming Bu$h; Average Joe/Jane should also look in the mirror.
