1. I don't think it will go over too well. Death toll of Americans
in Iraq is still much less and the deaths were civilians on American soil on 9-11.
It is likely to piss off some Dems, and Indys, along with of course Repubs.
We accomplish nothing by downplaying the horror of that day. The point is that Dems can make America safer and build relationships with Allies. Shrub has been a terrorist recruiter's dream. Kerry wont be.
4. I agree with you. I just think the statement would turn a lot of
people off.
I also don't like the arguments that get into my tragedy is worse than your tragedy. ie: slavery is worse than the Holocaust, the Inquisition was not as bad as the genocide of the Native Americans.
Factually, these can be analyzed regarding the number of people killed and the long term effect on the world but people usually take it as somewhat demeaning of the tragic nature and catastrophic loss of what they are comparing them too. They are all terrible and tragic.
The big difference is the U.S. as the victim vs. the perpetrator.
