A Liberal Texan's review of F9/11...
those of you who know who Harry Knowles is already know that he hates George Bush almost as much as he hates exercise. Seriously, the dude is a lardo. But he writes good movie reviews...

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=17835

"He uses humor, he allows Bush to look the fool that he so often comes across as being. He shows Bush being serious and seemingly sincere, then within a blink of an eye, you see that it was a front as he returns to the “real” Bush – which is the joking loafer. At every point in this film, it is about defaming and ridiculing Bush… showing him to be an insincere ignorant desperate servant of the powers that be. That he is not a President, but a man that doesn’t care about America, Americans, Soldiers, The Homeland, Justice or the Truth."

This review just made me feel good...

1. Why is Harry's weight worth bringing up?
Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 09:15 AM by TexasBushwhacker
Why does it matter that Harry is, as you so eloquently state, a "lardo"? Do you point out every bad habit that every film critic has?

"He's a 2 pack a day smoker, but he writes a good review."

"He's an alcoholic, but he writes a good review."

"He's a womanizer, but he writes a good review."

Seriously, who gives a shit about his waistline or personal habits unless it interferes with his objectivity?

2. As much as I am not PC, I have to agree with you.
It was uneccessary to mention his weight.

4. I mentioned Harry's weight because he does it all the time.
He is more than willing than to make himself an object of ridicule. When someone played him on SNL, they introduced him as "the chubby guy from Aint It Cool News." When Harry wrote about the skit on his site, he said "They should have said the morbidly obese guy from AICN".

People who visit his site regularly know that his weight is fair game. If he were self-concious about his weight, not as many people would make fun of it, but since he does most of it himself, I don't see what the big deal is.

And why is it "un-PC" to make fun of Harry for being fat, but it's OK to make fun of Rush Limbaugh for his (former) Enormous Weight Problem?

5. It is one thing for him to joke about it
It's another thing entirely for you to call him "lardo". Don't see a difference? I hear blacks call each other n*gger all the time, but I know that I'd better not!

That's okay though. When I was growing up I would have gotten into more trouble for saying the "n" word than the "f" word. The "n" word is not in my vocabulary and I suggest that you remove "lardo" from yours. Harry is just beating people to the punch. You don't have to join in.

3. I can't wait to see it
And I can't wait to register people to vote outside the theater either.
