Alan Colmes makes me fucking sick
He is arguing with a guy who went over into Iraq as a Human Shield. I thought he was a democrat? :puke: This guy was obviously hand picked by Hannity.

4. Colmes is a typical 'Dem' proffered by the right wing thugs
Whenever the RW media whores need a 'progressive voice' they pick a weak wishy washy mealy mouthed mouse of a man to fill the slot. Colmes is the perfect shill for these people. I remember when he had a radio show and just got hammered by his callers. He was too pathetic to keep on the air. Of all the strong eloquent progressives out there, why cound't FOX have chosen one of them? Obviously they need someone weak to prop up Hannity,

13. Anyone would...Bill Press is a, ugh..moderate.
Edited on Wed Aug-20-03 10:16 PM by Oracle
That's why he's on...the only real liberal with the highest ratings MSNBC ever had...Donahue, was fired...because he had real, liberal guest and he was starting to get through. and Gereral Electric (third largest weapons maker and owner of MSNBC, CNBC and NBC) wanted him gone.

15. I think Press does a good job
i dont think hes a "centrist" . What position is Press so middle of the road on ? I cant think of many.

Of all the left wing punching bags on corporate television, Press is probably the best, i concede Donahue is more left.

Nothing I fear.

I recall when I stopped watching corporate news, how he was in agreement with Pat on the need to invade Iraq...

Perhaps he's liberal..as liberal as me? Very doubtful.

I'm happy to hear you feel he's giving a liberal and balance to Pat.

However, it still doesn't make much of an impact when debated...

Unlike a Donahue, who had true progressive guest to reitirate his positions.

I do recall I liked Bill Press on Crossfire...but again, on a debate show where things get loud and distorted.

I'm absolutely sure MSNBC they thought Donahue would fall flat on his face, and they could say "SEE" liberals don't do well on TV...I also recall Pigman Limbaugh being so pissed off that MSNBC was giving Donahue his own show...when he didn't fall flat and was starting to soar, they canned him.

But thanks for your insights...no, I still won't start waching the Big Five Republican corporate news again.

I'm more informed than I've ever been...and that means...more pissed and depressed as well.

22. you are mistaken
Press and Buchanan both opposed the war in Iraq. Do a google search, some of Press' essays/columns were featured on antiwar.com. Buchanan is very anti-war, old conservatives like he and Novak are anti neo-con.

Buchanan and Press is actually a very good show, in context of whats on corporate electronic media.

9. Do you think the average Dem is like a typical DUer?
The average Democrat would be far far to the right of nearly any poster on this site. I dont see Colmes as any different than the average Dem.

11. thats half true
people here are very well informed, interested and motivated politically, so they are possibly described as more "liberal".

But the point with Colmes isnt necessarily his views, its his half-hearted punching bag effort, he is a well paid straw-man. An actor doing a weak imitation of a democrat.

25. Faux News cuts his paycheck. That's all you need to know.
Colmes will never bite the hand that feeds him. He is a "stage liberal," acting the part to be a foil for his idiot boss, Hannity (who poses as a "fair and balanced" partner).

It is one sad act, and I can't even stomach it for five minutes.
