Fahrenheit 9/11 DVD Release Date reported.
hope this hasn't already been posted...

from www.thedigitalbits.com

"Well... we knew it was coming sooner rather than later. Columbia TriStar will release Michael Moore's controversial Fahrenheit 9/11 on October 5th. The first documentary ever to take in more than $100 million at the box office will carry an SRP of $28.95. No word yet on extras."

with that SRP, you can expect the release week price to be around $17.99-19.99.

Hey Shubby! October 5th... SURPRISE!

I couldn't go see it because the local theater didn't show it, so I have to see it on DVD.

7. Going to see it for the 5th time tomorrow...I downloaded too!
The only thing with the downloaded version is that parts of the movie are missing...and important parts too...I know the movie by heart...and I enjoy seeing everything in the movie.

4. It's the nature of capitalism I suppose
to clarify: attach an appropriate value to the product. I'm a lefty but I think F9/11 is worth a bit more than Bad Santa.

Not like I'll but it at that price... I'm actually surprised I payed to see it. I knew about all this crap.

8. MSRP is $30, street price less...
Check the original post and the source again. Says the actual price will be around $17 to $19.

9. Movies never sell for the MSRP
Likely, the most you'll ever see it for at your local Target or Best Buy is $20. A few places may have it for $25, but that's as high as you'll ever see it.

Lots of places will discount the first week. Don't be surprised if it's rolled out for as low as $15. Snatch it up ASAP!

11. Bet you won't find it on sale at Walmart
I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't hard to get in the stores, or if it didn't show up on the shelves of Blockbuster video either.

But maybe I'm too cynical.

If they think it'll be a hot-seller (duh!) Bushoid political ideology would likely be trumped by the bottom line.

I wouldn't be surprised if local libraries didn't buy a lot of them.

Another nail...

Looks like we're thinking along the same lines. While some stores would like to boycott I think the thought of losing one sale will weigh heavy.

When its released I'll be checking all the stores here in Repuke locked Wichita and report back.

19. Walmart will probably carry it,
but with no discount from the MSRP. You might be right about Blockbuster, they'll probably just carry a few copies until after Nov 2.

On the other hand, Costco will carry it for sure!

22. Fuck Wal-Mart!
Best Buy will have it.

Circuit City will have it, since they follow lockstep with Best Buy.

Target will have it (they have a history of supporting progressive causes, the movie will sell, and they like money).

Costco will DEFINITELY have it.

Blockbuster will have it, since they're owned by Viacom, and the only ideology they really follow is money.

And you can always pre-order it online.

Who buys DVDs from Wal-Mart? They're expensive there anyway, and have been known to demand censored content.

12. I offered to pay for tickets for my son and 3 of his friends.
But they opted to go see "The Village." They're still very young. I'll try again next week.

15. Be interesting to see if the "regular" places carry it.....
Or will they bow to flaming RW'ers not to stock it on the shelf. With the unbelievable success of the movie they will probably stock it so the competition doesn't get their sale.

21. Bottom line
if that sucker is selling (which it will) they will carry it, right wingers or not.

It's all about the bling bling, David.

Wal-Mart and other chains like that will bow to the almighty dollar if it look stronger than right wing idealogies.
