Today's Terror Alert=Nothing But Upping The Rhetoric
Do a Google search on "ridge specific terror threat" and here's what you'll find: that the only difference between past alerts and today's is the emphasis on the word "specific." In the past, these alerts were trumpeted as containing "credible" information from "highly credible" sources, but *without* "specific information as to time and place."

Well, after a couple of years of that, even the media wimps are beginning to notice that the little boys are crying *wolf.* And, like a bad gambler who's given away his strategy once too often, the gamblers in the bush administration have few cards left to play. So, they drop the *non* and come up with "specific" info this time around.

Right.

If it's so credible, why is it "go about your business as usual?" If it's that credible and specific, why hasn't bush stopped campaigning, got his butt back to DC, recalled all of his cabinet members from abroad and gone into "imminent threat" mode?

Why? Because odds are it's all a line of BS to obscure bush's slippage in the polls. And, it looks like it's working.

Bush - creating cynics, one world at a time.

They are going over the top in how to scare people in new and creative ways.

2. While over at MSNBC, they've reverted to their normal Sunday
family viewing - Nat Geo animal shows!!!

I guess CNN handles the scare-the-shit-outta-ya programming while MSNBC's assignment is life-is-normal programming.

8. Way to draw attention away from
the Kerry Edwards campaign. And try to make us "afraid". Personally, I do not believe in "terra", of course--this will be used to cancel the protests of the RNC.

These attacks are just made up so that the people will be scared and they can herd them like sheep. Kerry should speak out and say "you have nothing to fear but fear itself" forget this bogus "war on terra"

9. new terror alert=bunk
cudos to cateacher...my good friend you always seem to get it just right. My thought here is that this new terror "alert" coincides very suspiciously with dubya's declining electability and job approval numbers...also both released today.

7. As I stated in another post...
Why would they say to those in NYC and Washington to go about their normal lives if they have credible knowledge of an imminent attack against a SPECIFIC TARGET???!!! As I said before, when there are shark attacks in Florida, they don't tell beach goers to swim as usual!!!
