39. Transcript of remarks on Clark
On Sunday, Dean told CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer" that -- if nominated by his party -- he would consider tapping retired U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark as a vice presidential running mate.

"Yes," Dean said when asked whether he would consider asking the former NATO supreme commander to join his ticket.

"There would be a great many people, of course, that would be considered as a potential running mate. And I must say, I think it's much too early to discuss potential running mates. I mean, we're five months from the time the first official vote and delegate selection takes place.

"So I find it very premature. But I think Wes Clark, he's somebody I keep in close touch with. He's a terrific person, very bright, very capable, very thoughtful. Our views coincide on a number of matters, and he is -- I certainly can't say enough good things about him. It would be tough to run against him."

I love how he called Shrub on the carpet about insulting our allies and having a "foreign policy based on petulance."

I think Dean has just eclipsed Kerry as my favorite person currently running. I still desperately want Clark to run (and I love how much respect Dean showed for Clark), but I would also be thrilled to vote and work for Dean.

41. Dean on DeLay
DeLay made a joke about Dean being stuck in
big govt/blame America Democratic past...
"The Howard Dean Democrats still want to party
like it's 1979..."

DEAN: I balanced budgets,
Tom DeLay has never done that.
I made sure every child in my
state has health insurance. In Tom Delay's
state they just cut 230,000 off health
care because they couldnt balance their
budget. I delivered jobs, the Republicans
have never delivered any jobs for a long time.
The Republicans havent balanced any budgets
for 34 years in this country. Let's let
the American people decide who's the centrist,
who's the mainstream political (?) here.
I think Tom DeLay and the President are
way out there on the extreme.
And I just might add one more thing--
We're not gonna let them take our flag any more.
That flag belongs to everybody in the country,
it doesnt belong to Tom DeLay.

46. On accepting matching funds:
"We're gonna do what it takes (to get GB out of the Whitehouse)."

Said he raised $7M last quarter not $70M. So matching funds are still in play.

"We're gonna send GB back to Crawford."
