Great quotes from Arianna
http://www.votearianna.com/index.html

Watch the clip from Bill Maher's show. She's great on it.

One of the best when asked about changing from a conservative to a liberal:

Arianna: Ten years ago when I was a Republican, Dennis Miller was a liberal and still funny.

Arianna: There's a name for people that can't change their minds and grow. They're called 'Republicans'!!

Say what you will about her, but she tells it like it is. I donated to her campaign and before anyone gets on my cause, I'm still voting NO and for Cruz.

I wish Arianna had a better shot at this, I like her.

1. Well...
...I support Camejo more than I do her for purely partisan reasons (it would do wonders to the Green party), but I'm willing to vote for her if she's more electable. See my first sig lines for my position on the recall, anyway.

2. thanks, ronny
Great stuff! I like her too, even though I disagree with some of her positions and wish she had more experience in political office. I heard her speak for an hour before a businesswomen's group (at least 500 people) and she was the best speaker I ever heard live--both content and style.

3. She is wonderful
I'd like to see more of her after the election. Who knows what might happen. The way this things is changing everyday, Arianna might pick up some steam.

Even if she doesn't make it, I hope she is still more vocal and speaks out more. She's won my heart, but I can't stand by and let Arnie baby take over, so I'll have to go with a No Recall and Yes for Cruz.

4. yes, I heard her on CSPAN for the first time recently...
...and was totally won over.

She's smart, articulate. She said she used to be a republican, thinking that corporations/the rich would step up to the plate to take care of the poor. She said they didn't, and that's what's made her an independent.

Go Arianna!

5. Ain't she great?
I hate that we have to fight and vote just to keep some asshole like Arnold out of office.

I think Arianna would kick some major ass if she won. I have going to vote absentee, but when the election rolls around and it looks like either the recall is going to be defeated and/or Cruz is gonna take it, I'll vote for Arianna. But stopping the recall and Arnold are my number one choice.

8. yes, I went out and bought her book after hearing her...
"How to Overthrow the Government"

Of course its shameful about the recall...

...but it gives Arianna (and others) a chance to bring up important issues - that even democrats are afraid to speak of.

7. If Arianna's heart is in the right place,
she will drop out and thow her support to no on reacll ,yes on bustamante. It is to close to have any Nader treachery in this state. If Mcclintock drops out it is is trouble for the Dems. The greens will get what they are hoping for, a Puke in Sacto.

9. Only if it is clear he will win
If it is clear she will win, Bisumante should drop out, if his heart is in the right place.

11. Idoubt if arianna's5% will get her a winning roll
It is not clear he will win, yet. We (DEMs) need any Progressive votes she may be able to send us, especially if more Gree, er, pukes quit and endorse AS. It is however, certain that Arianna stands NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER of residing in the Governors mansion.

18. Tell me something
Is there any difference among Davis, Bustamante, and Ah-nold that doesn't cancel out with other differences?

13. yeah
I can't stand people who, you know, grow and change and stuff. Once you believe something, that should be your belief for the rest of time.

14. LOL, Lazarus. Also,
There is a lot greater motivation for moving from the left to the right than vice versa. The right is more than happy to welcome you into the fold with $$$$ and power if you will toe the line, especially if you are an attractive woman/Black/Hispanic, etc. , who is willing to bash those who support the rights of women/Blacks/Hispanics, etc . Arianna has little incentive other than her own feelings to say the things she has posted at her website, published in her book, and describes in her speeches. She has alienated the rightwingers thoroughly.

I haven't been around long, so maybe someone has posted this kind of sentiment before, sorry if it's redundant, but...

Ralph Nader, in his most recent book, defends his "spoiler" role by saying that if Al Gore had run a good campaign and taken stands that he could respect on the issues (what RN considered traditional Democratic stands), then RN would have gotten no votes. Further, what chance is there that the DNC would listen to progressive views at all, if he or someone like him is not offering an alternative? I think he has a point (or two). I'm not saying that there is no legitimacy to the concern that multiple liberal or centrist candidates split a vote, enabling a rightwinger to win. I agree with that point too. These have to be balanced though, and I think RN's points been left out of, or underemphasized, in the discussions that I have read.

17. Oh dear, then I'd better leave. I used to be a Republican too.
Til I saw what Reagan was doing to the environment and women's rights and realized that I couldn't be a Republican because they believed the opposite of what I did.

Well, I'm still going to call myself a Democrat and I'm still going to vote Democratic.

And, BTW, why is it OK if conservative Democrats become Republicans? But not OK if Republicans leave their party?
