I thought that I hated Richard Nixon, until I saw GW Bush (rant).
Now I'm kinda nostalgic for ole Tricky Dick.

He was a pathological liar, and a paranoid freak...but he made the EPA and OSHA what they were (until GWB neutered them).

He KNEW why we hated him...and he didn't care. He was evil, but he was never STUPID. If he had ONE scruple, he could have been one of the greats.

GW, on the other hand, has less ethics than Nixon.

Less brains than Franklin Pierce.

Less honesty than Warren G Harding, and all the speaking ability.

Worst. President. EVER.

1. I agree. During Watergate, I used to turn into PBS with my family and
watch a show called the Advocates moderated by none other than Michael Dukakis. They had two panels, asked questions and generally tore Nixon a new one. I almost miss him I hate what we have now so much.

2. Nixon was an amateur.
When he resigned I assumed we'd never see a worse President. Boy, was I wrong.

3. Nixon, nothing. Spiro Agnew was a PIKER!
He got canned for a lousy quarter mil!

What's Cheney's "deferred compensation", again?

4. I agree...
Nixon was amateur hour compared to these guys.

If only we had Repubs who were honest like Howard Baker & Barry Goldwater, & would hold Shrub accountable.

We also need a John Dean, to tell the whole dirty story.

And a press corps that investigates & reports, rather than reading press releases from the White House.

15. Right
But we need an Insider to spill ALL.

And that will never happen...fear of retribution.

Look at the smears against Clarke, O Neill, Zinni, etc.

20. There HAVE been insiders who spilled the beans. Guess what?
Nobody cared, and the media painted them as loons.

5. I truly, madly, deeply
disliked nixon. (I reserved my Xtreme distaste 4 henry kissenger) I was overjoyed the night dickie announced his resignation. I did not think I would ever feel that way about another president. Sadly I was wrong. At least dick didn't blatantly steal his elections.

7. You want to hear a REAL bummer?
What makes you think BUSH is the worst possible president?

I can think of a few that would be worse. Picture, for example:

President John Ashcroft.

It could happen.

6. I wasn't alive for Nixon...
...but I've read his was a brilliant- albeit insane- man. W, on the other hand, is nothing but a bumbling dry-drunk...

8. Nixon was a raving loon, but nobody ever called him stupid...AND
what makes you think GWB is a "dry-drunk"?

You REALLY believe that ridiculous "pretzel" story?

9. he's a dry drunk...
He has all the signs- the bumbling, the red nose, the anger...
And what do you mean by if I believe "that ridiculous 'pretzel' story"?
He nearly choked on a pretzel. No man that does that is fit to be president.

13. either way
He's a goddamn assclown and an insult to this country.
We're splitting hair here; no matter what kind of drunk W is, no matter if he did or did not choke on a pretzel, he's still the worst president ever.

17. Worse than being a drunk........
to me, is his religious zealotry. Anybody who thinks God tells him to run for President, then tells him to attack Iraq, speaks volumes to me, Psychiatric volumes. What does the world do when God tells him to go nuclear? I shudder.
