Poll question: If you are watching the RNC Convention, why would you?
Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 05:10 AM by Cascadian
To those who are going to watch the TV coverage, why would you be watching it?

1. The only coverage of it that I plan to watch
is whatever Jon Stewart does on The Daily Show. I remember watching the one in 2000 and feeling like I was witnessing the Nuremburg rally. It sickened me at the time, and I didn't even realize what monsters they truly were. I now know everything I need to about what these people stand for. I don't need to watch either a whitewash where they pretend that they're really moderate, or a hatefest directed at people like myself, or what will probably be some combination of both.

The people on here who have the stomach to watch it will keep the rest of us updated I'm sure.

3. I have
better things to do than watch that garbage. Like cleaning the wax out of my ears and clipping nose hairs.

4. I refuse to watch at all
I have decided not to watch one single minute. I refuse to poison my brain with such hypocrisy and hate. I first considered listening to McCain, but have since changed my mind. Will spend my time watching Nick at Nite or A and E.

8. Not going to watch. My stomach cannot even take the news reports
And since when is McCain considered "moderate?" As in: moderates - McCain, Guliani - open the convention.

9. Options A & B
Might as well have a few laughs at the ridiculous speeches and know what the Busheep will be repeating as Gospel the next day. And, if any good disruptions of the Bushworship take place, ya can't miss that :)

It goes without saying, of course, that I will be watching C-SPAN and NOT subjecting myself to Tweety, Hannity, or the CNN bunch grovelling at the Idiot's feet.

12. Know thy enemy
its one of the few situations when you can get (in snippets) unspun insights on this race by listening to the speeches. Besides, what else is on that's any good?

13. I just cannot stand it...
I had to turn my tv off this morning and I try to check in every now and then to see if anyone sane is saying something, but to no avail. I think my blood pressure will benefit greatly if I just choose to keep it off.

14. Because while it may be politically incorrect...
I thinks it fun to point and laugh at people with obvious learning disabilities... and this way they're all corralled into one nice tidy place...
