Did Iraq have concentration camps under Saddam?
I mean, I keep hearing from the right that Saddam was killing thousands of Iraqis, apparently hundreds daily I'm told. Any hard data on the political prisoners Saddam killed? I mean, so far the US has killed roughly 15,000 Iraqi civilians, so what does this number represent of a typical Hussein year? I assume if Saddam was killing the thousands like the right claims then your average Iraqi citizen would have been truly happy to see us "liberate" them, correct? So why do they want the US out soooo bad if Saddam was such a bad guy?!

1. According to AI
it may have been as many as 100 a year. The big death tolls were during the 8 year Iran-Iraq war, and the 1991 rebellion that Saddam put down with the help of the US>
