Ok my vietnam vet dad said (regarding purple hearts bandaids)
"so its a bad thing to talk about the horrible things you saw and actions you saw or did because its bad for the soliders who were still over there BUT its ok to mock the medals they get for risking their lives, and limbs for the war ??? How is that ok?? what does that say to the soliders over there now?" and i agree 100%
2. I woke up at 3 am pissed thinking about the insult to vets
Vets like my dad who volunteered before age 16 to fight in WWII and who would NEVER stab another vet in the back and who would be insulted by non-vets making fun of a war hero like that. John McCain is responsible for those delegates just for the fact that he stands with them. He stands with a party that condones that type of thing.
9. Yup, just when you think McCain is coming around they tighten...
his leash and he falls back in line.
He condemns the SB ads ( good ) but says he thinks asshole* is not connected in any way ( bad ). The mere fact that presidunce asshole* didn't condemn the ads in the first place should have set off alarms in his head. But I guess there were none. Think I saw some line earlier about presidork asshole* condemning the SB ads but only after they ran its course and was off the air.
Was it some sort of coincidence that both McCain and John Kerry were attacked in a similar manner over their participation in the Vietnam War?
McCain even noted the similarities but it's too bad he doesn't know how to play connect the dots. That or he has flashbacks from 2000 and they took a toll on his state of mind.
7. Exactly! We have to support the troops until ..
they win three Purple Hearts a Bronze Star and a Silver Star. Then if their a Democrat we can ridicule their sacrifice and scoff at their wounds.
It's all the more reason veterans should take a good look at not just Bush but the whole GOP. Once they start making light of your's or anyone's sacrifice the next step is cutting your benefits. They talk big about supporting the troops but to them war veterans are no different than welfare cases looking for a hand out from the government.
8. My dad was a non-combat medic and now a Repub for Kerry
My dad treated wounded soldiers in Army hospitals overseas but never saw combat himself. I guess that makes him a wimp and a traitor too since he voted for Bush last time, but supports Kerry this time around.
