1. I susppect it's like starting a corporation
You file some papers with the state, except instead of filling out the forms for a limited partnership or a corporation, you fill out the form for a 527. If you want to avoid paying a lawyer, contact your state govt, or the FEC. They should know.

You might also want to try to contact MoveOn.org or some other 527 for advice.

2. I am waiting for a call back from a person who paid for and
started running his own ads to counter the SBV Liars ads. I was going to ask him about this type of thing.

I'll let you know what he says. He did it as an individual. He is an attorney so I was going to ask him if he knows anything about the election law requirements also.

3. You get this honkin' huge ground support truck...
with a massive generator and all kinds of pumps and hoses and stuff, you hook into the belly of the 527 and turn on the power. Then the Flight Engineer goes to the cockpit and powers up the engine starter...

No wait, that's a 747. Never mind.
