Foreign writing in magazine grounds Midwest flight
More tales of airline security here folks.

A Midwest Airlines flight from Milwaukee to San Francisco was canceled Sunday night after a passenger discovered Arabic-type handwriting inside an in-flight magazine......The writing, which was scribbled on a page of the magazine, turned out to be Farsi, the Iranian language, said Midwest spokeswoman Carol Skornicka

4. He 'olelo a'ole ka 'olelo Pelekania? A'ole makemake!
The above "foreign" language has been an official language of Hawai'i, alongside English ('olelo Pelekania, the "British language") since the constitutional convention of 1978.

A similar huhu ("brouhaha") occurred here when a conflict management specialist attempted to use Hawaiian within a state penitentiary. The guards got nervous about the "foreign" language there, too.

5. Richard Feynman Used to Receive Messages in Code
From his wife, while he was working on the Manhattan Project. Drove the security people nuts! The funny thing is that Feynman didn't know the code either. His wife invented a new code for each message and Feynman had to figure it out from scratch. That was part of the game.

Aloha to Hawaii! :hi:

9. Wish I could claim as my own, but I can't: it's from the "Divine Miss M"
The wonderful and witty Bette Midler, from her "Live At Last" album (back when they were called albums!)
