It's time for the shock treatment..............
run TV and radio ads announcing a draft will be started if Bush is reelected. This will paralyze American families with fear. Guaranteed. They will hit the polls in droves.

1. If it's a TV ad..
line-up the documentation so that it appears airtight. The military documents, statements by military and administration officials (with periodical citations & headlines), etc.

If we can show that this is really looming in the future, we can tilt the vote on this one issue alone.

2. yes, Democrat, Republican, or Independents will feak out!!
If their convinced there is the slightest chance this will happen they will stampede to the polls. Nothing. and I repeat nothing scares a parent more than thinking their child will be killed.
What are your reactions when you think your child could be sent into war? Those who support Bush will abandon him in a minute if their childs life is in danger.

3. I'm sorry
but regardless who is President next year, we will have a draft. It's not a campaign issue, not now.

4. Betcha the Pubs are already ready to blame it on Dems -- ie, Rangel
Today on air America they were talking about the draft, and a Pub called in and talked about how it was Charlie Rangel a Dem who was writing the draft bill.

We've already seen how the slime on the right can take 0.000000001 ounce of truth and turn it into a pound of poisonous BS, to be blunt.

6. No
it's a desperate loser strategy. We're building momenteum & credibility. That would blow it.

8. I want to expand on that...
you say "we're building momentum & credibility. That would blow it". I totally agree, but also in another context.
Now, don't get mad, but I'm coming out of my skin worrying about the debates. Al Gore was not seen as we saw him, and it hurt him. I know debates are the only way for people to see the Kerry we love but I just don't want to lose what we are gaining, either.
What do you think?

9. I agree
Kerry needs to stay focused right where he is--on the contrast between Bush's fantasy Iraq and the reality on the ground. The debate is a way to get that message across convincingly. Polls show that Americans know Bush has gotten us into a mess. Introducing the draft issue would muddy the water.

10. If we had a true & Just draft
rather than just depending on the underclass to supply all of our soldiers then we wouldn't be fighting these wars. It would be personal.

No I actually support a fair draft or decision for national service. The add wouldn't work the way you think it would.
