10. Dean for DNC Chairman!!
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 07:32 PM by MGKrebs
edit to add:

Some may say that if Kerry (DLC) wins, there is no way that a populist like Dean would head up the party. But I submit that it would be a perfect fit.

If Kerry wins, the attacks will be relentless and viscious. it will take someone just like Dean to fight back, keep the Party focused, and let Kerry do his job. And the DLC wins too, because Dean- or whoever- takes that job, will destroy their political future in the process. That job requires getting your hands dirty. Which is OK. We will have 8 years of Kerry, and Goddess willing 4 or 8 years of Edwards. At least Edwards will be the candidate in 2012, so the next Dem opening won't be until 2016, and who know who we'll be talking about then (Barak Obama?).

There's plenty of people who can do HHS. There aren't many who could be the DNC Chair that we need now.

All bets are off if we lose. I expect Dean would run for Prez again, and this time.... no Bush popping out of a ballot box.

17. NO, not DNC chair. HHS is much better!
DNC chair is nothing but a super fund raiser position. That's not HOward! Sure, he can raise funds, but he'd be much better at a policy advisor job.

Here's hoping that President Kerry offers Governor Dean a post in his administration. Secretary of Health and Human Services, perhaps?

16. The statement that killed H. Dean.
When H.Dean stated that he would break up the Mess of the Mass Media he sealed his doom. The Right Wing Media assasinated him right after that.

18. Yeah. He should have kept that little idea to himself
until after the election.

Although I also thinkhe wasn't acceptable to the Big Bux Boyz that run the show in this country, so he was gonna get taken down anyway.

20. damn, he was the Man... I've flipflopped on this but came to this
conclusion.
Dean would have wiped Bush's ass by now.

or would the media even show the wiping? not likely.

no matter who is against the boosh, (Jesus H. Christ couldn't win aginst him), he be the loser. Climatize yourselves to this, don't be too dissapointed....

32. I love Dean too but...by now they would be showing
abortion and then a pci of Dean..and his wife and saying he was conducting them. Look what all they lied about Kerry with ! They would have a field day with this and it wouldn't matter about lying, it hasn't stopped them before.

31. YES. We NEED him as DNC Chair.
Yes, it's primarily a fundraising position. Uh - anybody remember Dean - uh - doing - KIND OF well in that department when he was a candidate, hmmmm?

But more than that, the DNC Chair is our tone setter, party leader (will be if Kerry doesn't pull a few rabbits out of his hat), AND a media person. Can't count how many times I've either seen Terry McAuliffe on TV OR read about things he said on TV, and ed gillespie of the republi-CONS is on TV all the time. Dean hits hard, fast, straight, and true. He has a great rapid response instinct. Probably comes from his medical background. You can't horse around or negotiate with the bad guys (germs, disease, broken bones, infection, suspicious spots on the X-rays) or go to conference committee about something. You do stuff right away, and as though the patient's life depended on it - because quite often, it does. He's not afraid to say what needs to be said, and he isn't afraid to ruffle feathers. And DAMMIT, that's what we need!!!! In HHS, he'd be buried under a big bureaucracy. As DNC Chair, he'd be a GREAT trench fighter - just where we NEED him.

Yes I support Kerry. But I LOVE Howard Dean.
