CLARK alert.
Link: http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2004/09/29/WashingtonDCBureau/294222.html

"Clark, a Little Rock resident and former presidential candidate, last week joined James Lee Witt Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based crisis management consulting firm.

As the firm's vice chairman, Clark will focus on domestic and international security issues."

SNIP
"The firm, which employs about 50 staffers, was founded in 2001 by James Lee Witt, who led the Federal Emergency Management Agency during the Clinton administration. Witt also has served as county judge for Yell County and director of the Arkansas Office of Emergency Services."

SNIP
"Clark said he would devote part of his time to his new job while remaining chairman and chief executive officer of Wesley K. Clark and Associates, LLC, a Little Rock-based strategic advisory and consulting firm.

Clark said he would divide his time between Washington and Little Rock, where James Lee Witt Associates is expected to open an office next month."

Any comments? Do you think this means he is leaving the political scene?

2. Doesn't sound too promising that Clark will join Kerry's administration.
I'm still hoping that he will, though. Never say never.

3. Sounds like he's padding his resume
Witt & Associates should make a lot money under a Kerry administration. Having a future SecState or NSD (or Intelligence Czar?) on the payroll for six months isn't a bad move.

4. Clark is leaving politics.
He was drafted and left a good life behind when he ran for office and his son wasn't too thrilled by how things went either. Wesley is close to his son and I'm pretty sure that his PAC will be the extent of his involvement anymore.

6. Let's face it - our electoral system doesn't promote quality
He will help with the campaign then mind his business.

7. How come I have to keep feeling that loss over and over again?
You'd think I would have gotten over it by now, huh?

8. bummer eh?
I really hoped that clark would be our next sec.state. or NSA, or
secdef, but one of these offices he can't hold for some reason i
forgot.

Just bummer, it seems he can't play in the sandbox, or that kerry
has not smoothed a clear path for a quality man to be part of his
next admininstration.

Geez, boys, i hope i'm wrong, but y'all need to coalesce in to an
administration 6 weeks before november 3rd. General Clark, please...
will you join us and be a great part of our next administration.

I'm kinda sad at this news... i'really hope i'm wrong.
