Are News Bureaus Going After Bush?
I might be crazy - or just too optimistic. But I think the major News people might be going after this adm. after the attack against Dan Rather.

I have noticed CBS is really reporting the violence in Iraq - every night and with pretty thorough coverage.

On Washington Week one of the reporters said of the attack on Rather that "there could have gone any one of us." And it's the truth.

Newpeople make mistakes and always have. But it was not intentional.

But the News people could make it very hard on Bush by just reporting in great clarity what is going on every day - both on the home front and the foreign front.

The media loves a horse race. The also tend to reverse their positions at the end of a campaign like they did with Dean before Iowa.

2. No. But if they want to look out for their own best interests
they need to look into and publicise this right-wing propaganda press movement. If they do not, they will be toast.

3. The media is too important
to let die. We all hate them sometimes - but without them we would all be toast.

4. "The News Bureaus" don't act in unison
some individuals may feel resentment because of what they did to Rather, but I bet the usual whores will continue spewing propaganda. Fox's propaganda orders come from the top down.

CBS must be hopping mad after all the shit they went through: Rather, FCC fine, bashing their flagship news program, etc. A distinguished and respected newsman on the most popular and respected news program should not suffer because of an honest mistake while so many in this administration have gotten away with much worse.

I think I may start watching 60 minutes after this.

5. An old truism
"Don't pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel."

7. Only if common sense prevails over money.
It would be in their interest to bypass any criticism of one of their peers. The Sleeping Giant needs to wake up & teach this administration a thing or two. It's loooong overdue.
