how many people (not including people here) will be watching the debates
next week on Friday night during high school football season (a religion in many places including Texas, one of the 98 Texas gubernatoral debates was on a Friday night during the high school football season)

1. I think it should be as many, or maybe more
After all, the people who didn't tune in found out they missed something yesterday morning when they got to work and the debates were the hot topic around the water cooler and in the cafeteria.

The people who spend their time gawping at football probably didn't watch the first one, either, although the more affluent might have battery operated LCD TV sets with them at the game.

Everybody who's voting will watch, most likely.

64mm in the last debate. Figure less than that for this one, but not by much.

3. not only football, but
I hear baseball playoffs as well. I definitely have relatives who will be watching sports--not politics. That is just the way some of my family are. SIGH. But it doesn't matter a lot--none of them are undecided. They all know where they stand. (I have a few on both sides--but they all know where they stand)

4. Hopefully, they're also too complacent to vote.

6. I'll be sure to catch a replay on c-span no doubt!
I'm a parent who will be attending a football game because I have a son in the band.

I must admit that I was sorely disappointed when I called my mother last Thursday and she wasn't watching the first one. I couldn't believe it!
