OMG ! C-span covers MASSIVE CORRUPTION by bush* housing officials
Congressional Hearings on-going...MASSIVE CORRUPTION...ollie north responses from bush* officials....

bush* appointees gave themselves over $ 245 MILLION in bonuses....incorrect accounting, spun numbers, LOTS of press spin to cover up major crimes....

this hearing about fannie mae/freddie mac may well collapse the already fragile housing industry in America....

the corruption is really obscene....bush* and his minions have their fingers in EVERY SINGLE source of $$$$ available from WE THE PEOPLE....currently, stealing from housing mortgages.....it's crazy....vote these bastards OUT....shades of spiro agnew (nixon's shamed VP, who resigned the office).....

5. Can there possibly be a jail big enough to house all the corruption
that has been going on in our country in the last ten years? While we were sleeping and allowing the Republicans to distract us with a lot of noise in the 90s, we had just about every industry running amok with our money and trust. The Stock industry went Gotti and the Real Estate industry is still Gotti. It is so endemic that I could easily put eight of my neighbors away with the crap I've seen. And that would just be a start.

6. Someone here suggested that they may want to lose this election . . .
becasue they've already looted the treasury & there's nothing left. Why work 4 more years for nothing.

Frickin' scum is what they are. The lowest of low. Many Americans are going to wake up & whine that they didn't realize that's what was going on. Hello, McFly!!!

Like all the Iraqi artwork that disappeared. Like all the Iraqi oil they are trying to pump. Wonder who got all the loot stashed away by the Husseins, or is that the only reason Saddam is still alive?:wow:

15. Congressional Hearings playing on Cspan here in Washington DC....
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 04:41 PM by amen1234
on the RADIO....FM Radio around 89....

don't worry....all C-Span events are recorded and YOU can purchase them for viewing at your leisure....EVERYONE will want to listen to this Congressional Hearing....

you can call C-span to order your copy...or you can HOPE that it might be rebroadcast (although often this won't happen if the Congressional Hearing is damaging to bush* and his minions)...

There are actually THREE broadcasts for C-span....and not all parts of the USA pay for all Cspan coverage...(actually, IMO, many parts of the USA do NOT want citizens to KNOW what their taxes pay for)....

I am currently listening to questions by Christopher Shea, but don't know if he is HOUSE or SENATE......

you can contact C-span here....

Why else would MORE people be living in poverty (Cheney didn't even flinch)
When Gwen Ifill gave percentage of people with AIDS, did you hear cheney admit he didn't know it was that high?
How many times have people said that Congress should reflect the country? Well, in one aspect it does. It is divided right down the middle.
repugs = if you care about the poor, the environment, education and the economy, you can't get rich
Dems = we ARE the poor, the environment, education and the economy.

28. the "ollie north" response is to swear before Congress: I do NOT recall

I do NOT recall
I do NOT recall
I do NOT recall

and a few:
this is SOOOO-oOO unfair....

and LIE LIE LIE....

this was EXACTLY ollie north's response to a series of questions about the Iran-Contra money-for-guns-and-drug-smuggling-operation run by ollie north....

ollie was found GUILTY on all charges....but powerful reTHUGlican war-profiteering interests protected ollie and got him off on a 'tiny technicality' for MAJOR CRIMES, after all the commotion settled down...then they gave ollie a nazi-radio show to spew hate....

ollie was a front-runner in this approach to testifying before OUR Congress...it was SOOOO successful, that many other criminals now follow ollie's approach....

19. This really isn't a Bush thing
As much as I'd like it to be, the fraud at Fannie Mae implicates Congress far more than Bush. Maybe I'm delusional, but I still believe in that quaint and outdated concept called the Separation of Powers.

27. This admin has given carte blanche to all the looters and
thieves in the Repuke party to fill their pockets with our cash.

They are all attornies, so all they need is a go-ahead nod from the pres. and they can find all kinds of legal ways of doing it.

My ex can't get her tuition reimbursment money from the reserves because when she inquired about it they told her "there is no money in the account". I bet that is more theivery by the RNC.

30. Technically it's a gov't backed private corporation, but...
...oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac falls to the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, which is part of HUD.

So it's the executive branch's responsibility to police Fannie Mae. I'm not sure what Congress would have to do with any of it (not much, I'd presume).

25. and the link to New York Times coverage of bush* major scandal
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/07/business/07fannie.html?oref=login

-snip-

"He also reacted visibly when Mr. Baker made public a document showing that Mr. Raines had received $17.7 million in compensation for 2002, and that 19 other executives received payments that year of more than $1 million. Mr. Baker said that over the last five years, the company had awarded $245 million in bonuses, a figure that stunned even the company's strongest supporters and seemed to deflate the image long put forward by Mr. Raines that the company's sole mission was to provide financing for low- and moderate-income housing."

---------------------------------------------

All these bushies belong in prison...they are STEALING millions from WE THE PEOPLE in broad daylight...with bush* as their leader....STEALING from low- and moderate-income people....this is bush* 'compassionate conservatism'....
