1. No, and I sure hope not. My stickers are about all that's holding
my vehicle together.

3. No, but
here are some tales from my neck of the woods:

Our local Dem leader is a former Marine who had his house egged twice because of his Kerry Signs.

My friend had her Kerry/Edwards' bumpersticker ripped off her car-car may have been keyed , too, but she is so poor and her car in such poor shape, it would be hard to tell.

Same friend's neighbor had HER K/E sign stolen (I replaced it)as I have a good supply of signs now.

Someone kicked our door a few nights ago HARD at 1 in the morning, and we have two HUGE K/E signs in our windows.

Someone is going around and stealing our signs.

Pukes are putting their signs up on public property, and the local CIty Hall (Republica run) won't take them down, even though it is against local oridnances.

So, we go out late and night and put up K/E signs, which then get stolen.

5. stolen signs
had 4 signs taken from my yard last Saturday night-K/E, Fingerhut(running for senator in Ohio), local commissioner candidate, and Konop(candidate for US rep.). Had them replaced, except for the Fingerhut but we're working on that by that afternoon.

6. My two Kerry signs
stolen (of course, our campaign office didn't have signs, so we had bought them for ourselves, friends and neighbors). Strangely, they left the Feingold and the Support the Troops, Vote Bush Out signs , but took the Kerry AND Feingold signs from the neighbor's house. Another Kerry sign stolen from up the hill from us, and my daughter (in Madison) had all three stolen from her - though the Feingold sign was just smooshed in the street - the others gone.

I'm REALLY mad about this.

PLEASE report the thefts to the cops. The detective I talked with said that they DO want people reporting these - they don't want people feeling like it's too small a theft to report.

I'm in a blue county in a pale blue state. I live on a semi-rural road - obviously some assholes travel our road, I guess.

14. I asked the president of our local Dem Club about reporting thefts.
He told me that the local police aren't terribly helpful. I mentioned I might want to write a LTTE about right-wingers' disrespect of free speech, but he said this happens every election and he didn't want to get into a name-calling battle.

I'll defer to him. He was in the military, was a cop and had a son in Iraq. He's a better gauge of local Rethuggery than I am, I guess. But I swear...why was I ever a Republican???? Those people are nucking futs!

28. Our state campaign director
asked us to report them to the Kerry office AND to the cops.

When I talked to the detective, I didn't expect them to send out the canine unit and a forensics crew (though I told him I wanted that), but he said that they know better what/where to be on the watch for, if people actually report the thefts.

I guess I don't see the benefit of NOT reporting it, and it might make the news at some point if enough are reported.

of course, your police might not have the same attitude as ours... maybe they feel it's a waste of time.

I also have no clue why you were ever a Republican, but I'm so glad you've seen the light! :pals:

15. I probably should have made the question broader.
Lots of people are talking about vandalism. I'm lucky I got away with my car intact.

9. My sign was stolen

Hi,

My K/E sign was stolen, but I am glad to report that the thief took with them a party prize....I put dog poop all around it. They took some home with them on their shoes...hope they didn't find out until they were in their car or home.

Cheers,
Kim :toast:

19. No! Oh, hell no! There'd be a pitched battle over that!
I offered to go to the teacher for her, but she said "No, it's okay. Everyone knows Tyler's a jerk anyway."
This is the same school where they did a class presentation of Christmas music and poetry and the teacher had them cross out every occurrence of the word "gay" and replace it with "happy".
I did talk to the teacher about that one.
I asked her why she did it and without giving her a chance to answer I said, "Reason I asked is because one of Jenny's favorite aunts is gay and Jenny's curious why you say "happy" instead. You're interfering with my teaching a bit there."
She said it was because the boys giggle.
I'll just bet Tyler giggles. I'll also bet that Tyler's parents are real gems.

17. Yes. I had black paint splashed on my sign in the front yard.
Weve also got lots of reports of signs stolen although I think quite a few are Dems who cant find the signs anywhere else so they grab them off the streets.

My local Dem org cant keep them stocked

23. Strange but true...
During the 2002 election (I think that was the year..bad memory), Ed Rendell was running for Gov of PA and I happened to be in our side yard walking the dog when I saw a car pull up, the passenger jet out and yank the Rendell for Gov sign. I started running to the front as I yelled at them to "HEY! Put that back!!!" and the kid goes "owww" and looked like he had just been told he couldn't buy a toy or something. The driver couldn't have been more than 18 and the passenger was maybe 13.

They told me they wanted one because they wanted to put one in their yard...whether or not that was a lit I'm not sure. It was broad daylight out, but I have heard of Dems yanking other Kerry signs because they want one for themselves (which is kinda sad).

20. My DU sticker was sliced up
It's still on my car. You can still read the sticker, because the cuts are only noticeable when you get within a few feet of the sticker. Whoever tried to destroy it really did a half assed job.

Just Kidding! I've never desired to do that they have all rights as we do to express their opinions I believe we are Americans first before democrats/republicans.

I've already replaced it.

of course, when they steal the yard signs and you go buy another one, they're just helping the dems raise more money...

30. A K/E Yard sign stolen, and in 2000 when I lived in upstate NY, a Hillary
Clinton sign was stolen a few times. I ended up downloading new ones and printing them myself to replace them. After the election, someone drove over the last one I had.
