Have the Bushies provided ANY evidence that Bin Laden/al Qaeda did 9-11?

Bush U-turn on Bin Laden evidence

By BBC US State Department correspondent Jon Leyne

Members of the Bush administration have cast doubt on a plan to issue a document containing evidence linking Osama Bin Laden to the recent attacks on the United States. The idea was suggested by the American Secretary of State, Colin Powell, on Sunday. But a matter of hours later President Bush failed to endorse it. Washington seems to have had a swift change of heart on this important issue.Mr Powell spoke in a television interview on Sunday of issuing a document that would tie Bin Laden to the most recent attacks. He suggested it would be published in the near future.

But less than 24 hours later President Bush declined to endorse the plan and Mr Powell himself then suggested they would just be releasing individual items of information when it was safe to do so.

Many allies of the United States have been asking for more proof of a link to Bin Laden. The calls have been loudest from Arab and Muslim countries eager to placate domestic opinion.

But within the Bush administration it seems there is a dispute between those eager to do everything to build an international coalition and other officials who believe releasing too much information would compromise American intelligence sources. It is certainly true that Bin Laden has come very close himself to admitting culpability, at least for previous attacks such as that on the American warship USS Cole in Yemen last year.

"Rumsfeld said he has no plans to share the evidence the United States has which it says links bin Laden and his al Qaeda network to the September 11 attacks. There's been plenty of evidence in the news media, he said, adding that no one is asking for it, except Afghanistan's ruling Taliban." --CNN, 10/3/01

4. Evidence?
That's on the printer, next to the evidence of WMD's, Bush's* military records, and missing "w" keys on typewriters when Bush* took over.

Don't need no stinkin' evidence!

5. Could this be the 'global test' that Kerry was talking about?
- Kerry was right when he said that we should have to PROVE (to Americans and the world) that a country is a THREAT before we attack. We've seen the results of Bush* doing the opposite.

23. A B C D are bin Laden. Don't know who E is.
I saw bin Laden. He's been on TV several times, before 9/11, after 9/11. That settles it for me, without any evidence to the contrary. Plenty of times he, or other al Qaeda, could have denied it. Plenty of times others could have taken "credit" for it.

Al Qaeda did it.

8. Amazing how america has accepted the "OBL did 911" mantra
I haven't seen a bit of evidence to support the claim. But it's been repeated so many times that everyone thinks it's established fact. OTOH there is lots of evidence that our govt was involved.

Oddly, no mention of 911.

Interesting, eh?

14. Nope. Nothing to link 911 to Al Qaeda and/or Osama Bin Laden....
...the nineteen alleged hijackers, none of whom were from Afghanistan or Iraq, were either extremely well-disciplined, or lucky, or a combination of both, because they didn't leave a paper or electronic trail of any kind.

There was a video that surfaced purporting to show OBL discussing the attacks on the WTC, but when the face of the person who is claimed to be OBL is compared to before and after pics of OBL, it doesn't match at all.

15. Isn't that strange?
- The leader of this phantom group, bin Laden, was from Saudi Arabia. So were most of the hijackers. Yet...no investigation of these connections has ever taken place.

- Worse...Bush* edited (censored) 28 pages out of the original 9-11 report concerning the Saudi connection to terrorist financing. And there has been very little in the mainstream media about the Bush* family relationship with the Saudi royal / bin Laden families.

- Golly...it seems almost like....a coverup.

16. Bin Laden extradition raised (BBC - Wednesday, 12 September, 2001)
A leading spokesman for Afghanistan's ruling Taleban militia has said it would consider extraditing terror suspect Osama Bin Laden based on US evidence. US officials have described the Saudi-born dissident as their chief suspect in off-the record briefings, saying they have intercepted messages between his people talking about the attacks.

The Taleban ambassador to neighbouring Pakistan, Abdul Salam Zaeef, said, when asked about Mr Bin Laden's possible extradition, that the first step would be to discuss any US evidence.

<snip>

Mr Bin Laden has denied involvement in the attacks on the United States, but says he fully supports such "daring acts".

17. The Bushies were never interested in negotiations or diplomacy....
...because it would have exposed the plan to attack Iraq no matter what the evidence showed to be true.

- The 'war on terror' has never been about the truth.

18. there were plans to invade afghanistan in october 2001 before 911..
US planned war in Afghanistan long before September 11

Insider accounts published in the British, French and Indian media have revealed that US officials threatened war against Afghanistan during the summer of 2001. These reports include the prediction, made in July, that “if the military action went ahead, it would take place before the snows started falling in Afghanistan, by the middle of October at the latest.” The Bush administration began its bombing strikes on the hapless, poverty-stricken country October 7, and ground attacks by US Special Forces began October 19.

22. can somebody name ONE terrorist attack remotely similar to 9/11?
terrorist attacks are by their nature crude and nasty. Car bombs, shoe bombs, spraying crowds with gunfire, suicide bombs.

I can't think of ONE terrorist attack, EVER, that had the sophistication of 9/11

The 9/11 attack simply doesn't fit the M.O. of a terrorist attack.

That alone should raise plenty of suspicions

24. Not only is it unique...
...but it's probably the most under-investigated attack in history. Never before has the executive office been left out of the loop and held harmless by investigators and commissions.
