I saw a K/E sticker on a Mercedes this morning...
and I'm in Kentucky.

Also, my wife stopped by our Dem HQ the other day to get a K/E sign for a neighbor who had his stolen; and they told her that they were all gone. They had 700 signs, and they all went fast.

I've probably seen six B/C signs and eight stickers in this area.

1. I'm in Texas
and live in the burbs to boot. I have been seeing more and more K/E signs and bumper stickers since the 1st debate. Yesterday i was at a light to turn left and the guy next to me was honking and giving me a thumbs up, as the light changed and he drove off i noticed he had a Kerry sticker on his truck.

2. Here at Ole Miss a lady came by and got a sticker for her brand new
Infinity SUV.

It was awesome.

However even though Kerry stickers are running even with Bush ones, a real accomplishment in MS and a great improvement from 2000, when there was like one Gore sign, Bush stickers are only on cars that are worth over $30,000.

3. Just because you have money doesn't mean you are an idiot.

I know several individuals in the upper 1% bracket who are not only voting Kerry- They are advocating actively in their country clubs, fundraising and contributing. Unfortunately I'm not in that 1% bracket myself but there are good people who are able to not only enjoy what they have but to also use it for the public good.

(edited for spelling--think I got em all)

5. It's about whether you are concerned about your short term
well being or the long term good of the country.

11. Very true
My parents are in the top 2% AND religious to boot... on paper, Bush's wet dream.

But they're lifelong democrats who have a Kerry sign in their yard... bumper stickers on their cars, the whole shebang.

8. The Issue isn't Money, it's Education
There are many well off people supporting Kerry. These are usually people with lots of education, professional or graduate degrees. They may have made a lot of money, but they look at Bush and realize they wouldn't hire him to manage a Dairy Queen.

Most of the well off people who are supporting Bush are "bean counter" types who know next to nothing about the rest of the world and couldn't give a flying f**k. They're not quite bright enough to figure out somehow that it's better to be in a 38% tax bracket when stocks are going up 20% a year (remember Clinton?)than in a 32% tax bracket in a down market.

When it comes to upper class support the REAL distinction between Bush and Kerry supporters comes down to one issue, not money, but education.

By the way, I'm not nearly as optimistic as most of the posts are after the debates. I still have to give the edge to Shrub. I've been watching the post debate interviews with undecideds and what we see is not what a lot of the independents are claiming they saw.

have to be very careful here about overconfidence.
