to a company which has decided not to advertise on a Sinclair Station.
*********************************************************
Dear Reny's: My wife and I are frequent customers of yours and we are glad to have a discount retailer still in play in our state. Thanks to your store for helping me out in a pinch more than a few times over the years. I would encourage you to withdraw your company's ad accounts from WGME because they have shown themselves to be a hard-core partisan organization that is intent on promoting one point of view to the exclusion of all others. Their anti-Kerry infomercial is just the last in a long string of such negative, partisan actions they have taken in the last several years. Not allowing their affiliates to show the Ted Kopple segment honoring the soldiers who have died in Iraq was equally meanhearted and underhanded. For Reny's to associate with that type of company doesn't add up for me. I was so relieved to read that Hannafords and Lee Auto Malls had taken the lead in this stand against a media bully. If you decide not to withdraw you account, I will regretably have to reevaluate my estimation of your organization. Thanks for taking the time to read this note. Sincerely,
Mr. Blank

To all concerned:
Thank you for your thoughts on the Sinclair situation.
At Renys, we try to be careful about the environments we advertise in – you’ll never see a Renys ad during a “Jerry Springer” show, or in programs that are offensive to Renys core values (we advertise in the news and weather, predominantly).
We are not taking a political side on this issue, but we do feel that there is a moral issue here, which is a matter of truth and fairness. At Renys, we are always truthful in our advertising – we never inflate prices to run a sale, and we let you know if it’s an irregular or a closeout. We work very hard to offer our customers the best merchandise we can at fair and honest prices.
With truth and fairness as our guide, Renys is not presently and will not advertise on the Sinclair station until after the election.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write, and we hope to see you the Saturday after the election for our once a year Early Bird sale!!
Sincerely,
Robert Reny R.H. Reny, Inc.
