What if Kerry and Shrub don't get a flu shot and get the flu?
I was just watching Nightline and Kerry saying Congress shouldn't get a flu shot if the american people can't, and I agree with him! Shrub said he wasn't getting a flu shot because he wasn't in the risk catagory. I agree with that too!

But, because these two guys spend their days meeting people and shaking hands with strangers all over the country. What if either or both get the flu...just in time for the election on 11/2?

U guess it's all honorable and polically correct to say "give mine to a needy person", isn't this just a little dumb?

Can't ya just see wither one standing at the podium, sick as a dog, and trying to look victorious???

1. They both need to get flu shots because they are at high risk
For either of them not to get flu shots would be just plain dumb. They're running as president of the United States - they need to stay healthy.

Kerry is right to remind people that Congress has excellent health insurance and access to high-quality health care, while tens of millions of employed Americans have no access to health care.

Shrub was just plain stupid to advise people not to get flu shots. What a moran he is.

2. Neither aren't at risk....
So even if they got it - it's just a flu, not the plague... No one in congress should have got it...that's REALLY wrong!!

3. If anyone gets the flu it will be the shrub.
But he won't see... because he has had the flu shot. Unless karma decides to put a big foot up his ass, then no shot will help him with that. I can't believe anyone would believe him when he says he didn't get the shot. The man is a proved liar!

5. Best medical care isn't the point! Not getting one is just stupid!
I'm 61, and I got my last flu shot when I was 24. I got the damn flu and I swore I would never get one again!

I'm not exposed to very much, and if I pay attention to not putting y hands near my face while in public, and wash those hands when I come home, I'm sure I'll be just fine.

These two guys spend hours each day shaking hands with strangers, higging little kids, and their exposure is very high! I just think it's stupid for either one to try to play the macho martyr.

Will either die? NO, of course not. But we're talking about the election of their life here! I really don't care very much if shrub looks like sh*t at his consession speech because he always does anyway. I do care how Kerry looks when HE does his accptance speech! That's pictures that will be in the history books!

9. Flu Shot? Bah Humbug!

I'm 61, and I got my last flu shot when I was 24. I got the damn flu and I swore I would never get one again!

This has been my experience with these shots as well. When I still worked in a corporation, everyone in my office tried to force me to get the shot one year, threatening that if I brought the flu in I would be in deep trouble. They all got shots. Every single one of them got the flu. I was the one who didn't. The more people I talk to, the more I hear about similar experiences.

I honestly and truly believe that these shots are mostly useless in actual protection. There are so many strains of flu, it is impossible to come up with one vaccine or even a series of vaccines that cover them all. I always hear the 70-90% effective quote, but that is always quoted by those trying to sell the vaccine in the first place. Not a big conspiracy, just rose colored glasses from those trying to push their product.

I will be very interested to see if the number of people stricken with the flu rises dramatically this year. Given the shortage, if the flu shot is effective we should see a huge jump in the number of cases. If the flu shot is as useless as I personally believe, we are going to see similar numbers of flu deaths/hospitalizations that we see ever year.

I think Kerry is doing the right thing not getting a shot. A good leader, leads by example. I also have little doubt that whistle-ass got a shot, because he has already shown himself a coward.

6. Kerry Campaign Statement on Vice President Cheney Receiving a Flu Shot
Posted on October 20, 2004 at 08:43 PM

Kerry-Edwards campaign spokesperson Phil Singer released the following statement today in response to reports that Vice President Cheney received a flu shot:

“Once again the Bush administration proves that it is the ‘Do As We Say, Not As We Do’ White House. The very week that Secretary Thompson is telling Americans to keep calm, Dick Cheney, John Snow and Bill Frist are getting flu shots. It is unfortunate that the Bush administration failed to do the work necessary to ensure that all Americans, including those most at risk, had been able to get shots as well.”

7. Just because *W said he wasn't getting a shot doesn't mean he
won't. He has no problem telling lies, remember? If Kerry does get the flu and *W doesn't? Well.......
