120 Billion and our troops still want Baby Wipes Grrrrrrrr
I hate what Bush is doing to our troops. At the large corporation (for La. ) in north Louisiana I am working at, there are signs requesting donations for the reservist that just went to Iraq. On the list is Baby Wipes, toothpaste and toothbrushes. WTF is * spending all that money on.

During the first couple months of the Iraq Invasion, SoCal and others got a lot of donations for things the troops need in Iraq. But why now do they still need Baby Wipes and other simple things?????????????????? For 120 Billion the Army should have the simple things for the all troops in Iraq.

1. I agree with that
Check out http://anysoldier.us and see the lists of what they really need. I mean, it's enough to make you cry.

5. I sent hundreds of beanie babies to a soldier a while back
(got them from a coworker who inherited them) - he said when they went to go fix up a school in a very poor area he handed one toy to one little girl, then he and his soldier buddies were "overrun by kids like a pack of wild dogs." He said it was so much fun giving away the toys and he'd remember it for the rest of his life.

7. Yes, he will
I've done something similar, and I'll never forget it. It's always amazing to help someone who is in need. The only thing to make sure you don't send are the Beanie Kids or the other ones that look like people so you don't offend anyone.

9. I nixed the dogs, the pigs, and Santa Claus
the best story: I sent four different boxes, and they had one with them in a humvee when they were surrounded by kids. They were handing out the beanie babies, and a ways off stood a man and his little girl, in tattered clothing. My soldier stood up and balled up the biggest beanie babie - I remember it vividly - a huge pink flamingo - and tossed it to the guy and he caught it and the little girl danced with joy. The soldier said I MADE A GUY LOOK GOOD IN FRONT OF HIS LITTLE GIRL. *sniff*

LOL, some of those beanie babies were mighty strange beings - like scorpions - but I'm betting as long as they had eyes the kiddies just loved them.

are running the show.. The days of the "crusty supply sergeant" who got stuff for his troops..by hook or by crook..are only in the old movies..

All the day-to-day stuff has been outsourced to KBR/Halliburton.. The myth is that they can "do it better...for less"..

The less part is correct..but that's less for the troops..

They are just stealing our money..that's it in a nutshell...

4. There is a highschool where I live that is doing a "supply our troops"...
drive. They are getting wipe and all sorts of things and sending them to Iraq.

Fucking sad that Bush can't do it.

6. However, if you do send wipes and other stuff...
...keep in mind that for some things (like the wipes), getting a boxfull of travel packs will likely be more useful than one or two jumbo containers: not as bulky to carry, and easier to split up for trades and such.

8. Bush is spending most of that money on bribing informants
who turn on us later. he's not spending the money on the troops except for their regular pay.
