The "Beat The Crap Out Of Sinclair" Brainstormer
Okay, so the bastards have gone and done it and now we need to get ready to deliver the almighty slapdown.

It's time to get retribution for this partisan charade and come up with some idea's to further annoy them.

WWWWWWAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR but done with a big blue smile :)

So I ask of you... what do we do now as it's obvious our ways havent had the effect, by tomorrow they will have resumed ads and everything will be normal again. I for one am not happy about this.

So, What about instead of a massive emailing campaign we try to do other things? I mean it only takes a few minutes for them to set up a filter that blocks us.

1. Some people with a lot of money could begin....
selling shares of Sinlair stock short, further driving down the stock price and panicking investors.

2. I think we need to demostrate some old time activism...
...that goes beyond this election. Each community that has Sinclair Broadcasting stations needs to have concerned citizens picket and demonstrate at the very gates of each station. If we Democrats have been able to do meetups and get with each other as we have done, we need to be able to get together and have meetups at the front of the stations with signs in hand. They are supposed to be part of our communities, and EVERYBODY is part of a community. Sinclair has decided they do not recognize us as such, and we need to protest them to the utmost. This country has not seen old time activism in a long time, and its about time it does. If each station is picketed, it will draw media attention to OUR cause. It also will have the effect of scaring their advertisers to death, since we would also be carrying signs with their names on them to. Thats what needs to be done, and we all need to join forces to do it.

5. Demand equal time for Kerry to explain
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 08:16 PM by JellyBean1
the concept of the electromagnetic spectrum being 'owned' by all people. Sinclair Corporation only has a license for commercial use.

By nature of the Sinclair Corporation holding a monopoly position, and the store clerks running the corporation have tried to use the corporate assets for the Smith's own agenda, not for the benefit of the corporation or those that leased the air space to the corporation. This constitutes fraud against a legal corporal entity called the Sinclair Corporation by officers of that corporation.

Kerry will instruct the new attorney general to investigate and institute divestiture of the holdings of the Sinclair Corporation. Furthermore, all licensing of airspace agreements will be investigated by the FCC when a new Chairman of the FCC is installed. If violations of commercial contracts have been breached or violations of stockholders right have been breached (as determined by the SEC) the the Sinclair licenses will be revoked.

After the assets of the Sinclair corporation have been spun-off to 'local' operation of broadcasters, licenses to those local operators will be considered.

As the SEC determines, the operating officers of Sinclair will be subject to tort lawsuits by those holders of stock other than the officers to compensate the stockholders other than the officers.

Furthermore, the IRS will perform a full field audit to determine if the officers of the corporation have misused corporate assets for their private benefit, i.e. a political campaign that is beyond the right of a corporate enterprise to exersize.

Gut the Smith brothers and shut down the media monopoly on information to the citizens "we the people".

6. I'd spend my time on more important things now
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 10:06 PM by high density
It aired and it wasn't nearly as bad as it would have been had we not been mobilized against it. Now it's time to move onto something else, such as getting Kerry elected on Nov. 2nd. Sinclair isn't off my shitlist by any means, but there are more important things in the short term.
