GOP fails in effort to move polls

Last-minute bid tried to relocate 63 mostly black polling places

By CHRIS BRENNAN

brennac@phillynews.com

REPUBLICAN OPERATIVES working to re-elect President Bush submitted last-minute requests in Philadelphia on Friday to relocate 63 polling places.

Bush's Pennsylvania campaign staff filed the requests, using the names of two Republicans running for the U.S. Congress and seven Republican ward leaders.

3. Waste is right...
In the past couple of weeks the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area has been awash with open support for Kerry, from the bumper stickers (9 cars out of 13 had stickers and/or signs in the back window at Blockbuster Video when I was there toite) to what I hear my Republican family say and the political sentiment at work.

I think Kerry is gonna take this state handily. BTW, my stubbornly-Republican uncle just voted for Kerry via absentee ballot from a hospital.

2. I'm glad to hear the Dems are on top of this BS this year!
I believe this crap has been going on for years, and for some reason, the dems just ignored it, or just weren't paying attention. It's about time they are NOW!

6. Guys, things are looking REALLY good for us...
Seriously. We're prepared for their shit like never before. They're pulling out tons of tricks and we're one-upping them every step of the way.

I live in PA and am pretty comfortable saying Kerry will win here handily. I live in MAJORLY conservative Freeperville here in central PA (supposedly 150% Bush-land) and I see a Kerry bumper sticker to match every Bush. If you saw where I lived and knew that way back here where there ain't much to do but shoot your gun and go to church, you'd be amazed that 4 Kerry signs went up this week in a half-mile stretch.

Kerry's gonna win this if we all keep plugging away - our efforts are showing!
