1. I don't believe that. It's another scheme to make you believe
something that's just not true. The majority of Catholics are NOT single issue voters. OF course they disagree with the abortion issue, but they also disagree on the war, cutting social programs, supporting business over the people, and a host of other things.

The Pubs wish the "catholic block" were voting on this single issue, but they're wrong.

3. Well, it's been more than thirty years that I've been
socially around Catholics as a bloc. But back then those issues involving women's reproductive rights weren't as important as ending the Vietnam war, creating jobs and funding social programs. Have things changed that much?

4. "Have things changed that much?"..........um
yeah, this is the biggest mess I've ever seen between church and state. It's gone completely haywire. That's not to say individuals of any faith are always on board with their Church's dogma..but the organizations/religious are going way over the edge this time.

For me, I figure I can boycott religions/churches just as well as corporate products if they "support" a right wing agenda. I don't want to be associated with a group that is part of the PROBLEM and not part of the solution.

I'm keeping my distance until further notice. ;)

6. catholic are not a "bloc."
the vast majotity in this country love church ritualistic traditions but are modern in their thinking. church dictums on birth control(from condoms to abortion) are routinely ignored by most. however, most catholics are very unjudgmentally sensitive to victims of poverty and war. e.g. winness nuns volunteering to test aids vaccines on themselves to catholc volunteers preventing death from thirst as latinos attempt to cross the arizona dessert. "catholic workers" house the homeless at their own expense.

7. If that were the case...
then the only two Catholic "majority" states Massachusetts (50+%) and Rhode Island (68%) wouldn't be providing John Kerry with his largest margins of victory on Nov. 2 which we know they will.
