Anyone notice how the "wolves" looked like puppies and took off ....
in different directions?

One on the left looked confused....not sure what was happening when his buddy jumped over him and basically stayed put.

And one on the right went off screen in a completely different direction than the supposed prey (the viewer!).

Very strange ad. And they had a puppy quality to them.

They tested this ad and found it to be "powerful"? I'd like to know who they tested it on! They need a new test group!!!

1. The test group was nothing but
Shepherds.

2. When I first saw this ad before I even knew anything about it
it made me think of GW as a wolf in sheep's clothing! I don't know why but that's the first thing that popped into my mind! Bwahahaha!

3. I agree! They need a new group!
I don't think most people would recognize the depth of animal actions that you saw. I did, only because I work with dog rescue, and am a little more attuned to canine actions, but most people aren't.

I just think the ad failed, because they failed to make a connection between Kerry and wolves!

At least in the Reagan bear ad, the bear had a relevance to the Soviet Union and the Russian Bear.

5. Another thing...
...does portraying the wolves as the predators imply that the voters are "sheep" waiting to be slaughtered? Does implying that terrorists are like wolves, and the voters like sheep, convey the meaning they intend?

I am not a sheep. I will not be preyed upon by wolves, or shorn and herded by a shepherd.

7. Interesting theory. That's beyond my analysis skills!
I suppose you could be right, but I don't think most people would ever have that deep of a reaction to this ad. I really believe most people will see or hear this ad in background. They won't pay any more attention to it than they do to any other political ad. There have just been so many ads, the old remote control button is at everyones finger tips. The small part if any that they see is going to be dismissed becasue without full attention, it just won't make sense.

6. Head chopping terrorists always make me think of "noble" wolves
Wolves pretty much leave their own species alone.

8. Whom They Tested.
They obviously tested this ad on that anti-animal freeper base of theirs! Those self-righteous yokels are paranoid of wild, "dangerous" animals like wolves.
