2. I have no idea. Hope taxismom will post here and explain more.
In the meantime, you can probably find out more by looking up the website for C-Span, or googling Ken Auletta.

16. Happy Birthday!
and enjoy the book. I got it for my mom for her 69th birthday (she has a huge crush on Stephen Colbert). She loved it.

22. It's by turns hilarious and very serious
So far, Jon is very witty, talking about the debates and the styles used by Bush & Kerry. He's laying on the sarcasm while being very serious. It's difficult to describe. I hope they post a transcript at some point.

Interviewer has switched to Plame. Jon says Novak could end this whole thing right now. "Novak supposedly broke his hip. It's not true; his hip was trying to escape."

"We invaded a country with the wrong information and Janet's tit got a 'gate' - who gives out the 'gates'? It's insane." Then he goes back to slamming Novak HARD.

25. The guy is brilliant! Watch it twice, since I can't get it. ^_^
We're so lucky that we have someone like Jon Stewart who not only has clear vision of what is happening, but isn't afraid to say it loudly and clearly.

And, he doesn't have to make things up to be dramatic. :)

And, he makes it look like it isn't "hard work". :hi:

24. "What would happen if Hitler were interviewed
by Larry King?"

Jon: "What?"

"I wish the media would come back to work for us, the people -"

applause

Jon riffs into stump speech mode. Hilarious, but chilling the way he did it given the Hitler ref. Again, it's hard to describe.

He tones it down to talk about how fast info moves and the news turns over too quickly. The debates were like deciding the Coke vs Pepsi supremacy. The TV press is willingly getting their asses kicked. They have a job and they're not doing it. That's what drives me crazy. (paraphrase)

Interviewer brings it back on point. Jon plays Hitler on Larry King. Now he's giving CNN hell because as he says, we know FOX isn't fair and balanced but we used to be able to trust CNN. Now we can't.

Again, it's hard to describe and I do hope they transcribe it. It's powerful stuff.
