Could Wolves Ad Speak to More Than This Election?
Think about it. Wolves are being reintroduced in the West. Ranchers don't like it, so the Repubs take this opportunity to run an ad associating wolves with terrorist predators as a precursor to an attempt to gain public acceptance for exterminating the wolves in a second Bush term.

1. I highly doubt it.
Thats a bit of a stretch. It isnt a big enough issue for either side to try to smuggle into campaign commercials.

2. I doubt that was behind the ads..
There are a lot of pissed off ranchers.. I think they fear gas/oil drilling, and roads crisscrossing their "wildlands" more than a few wolves..

Deep down, I think some of the ranchers like the idea of hunting the wolves too ..

They are reimbursed in cash for any livestock taken, so the wolves are not really a threat to them..

4. Very interesting idea!
I thought of Dick Cheney and his anti-environmental stance when I saw the ad, but I didn't take the idea all the way.

I think you are right. It's even possible that the wolf ad might play better among viewers in the far west. It sure isn't going to scare anybody in the southeast, I can guarantee that! We're reintroducing little red wolves into the North Carolina coastal wilderness, and most people are just fine with it. The red wolves are about the size of a cocker spaniel and less aggressive.

5. ...I'd say crying "Wolf!" is the ultimate act of childish desperation.
