US Intelligence helped distribute explosives
You may need your tinfoil hat for this. Msnbc just reported a group of "insurgents" claiming to have some of the missing explosives and that US Intelligence officers helped them attain it.
I was wondering how they could disappear under our noses. Now what kind of covert agenda is this?

1. I think no matter how much is missing, how soon after the invasion
it happened, and who gave it to them there is one disturbing fact. We didn't think these places were important enough to secure. They weren't oil so they didn't get protected. Unreal in my book. The facility was known for weapons. I'd like them to use Rumsfields remarks too about a free nation is free to loot with this one.

2. Totally foolish of W
To ignore the ammo dump and concentrate on the oil ministry. My goodness, they were proud as a peacock when they had the oil ministry. Then the museums got looted. Miserable failure of a regime.
Maybe Rummy was able to get his explosives back for "other uses", like N, S, E, and W of Bagdad.

3. but the original post makes these points moot...
IF u.s. forces helped the insurgents attain these explosives, then you have to wonder WHY...

one answer: to ensure that the insurgents could raise an effective insurgency so as to give the u.s. gov't an excuse to keep troops there for the long haul.

just my $0.02

This wasn't just an ammo dump
This was a huge complex with over a 1000 buildings. It was one of two main sites that we believed Saddam was using to develop WMD's and chemical weapons.

This site was one of the main 'reasons' why we invaded Iraq. US Troops should have been all over this site, like flies on shit as soon as we got there.

This purposeful negligence proves that invading Iraq had nothing to do with Saddam having dangerous weapons and/or al Qaeda. Absolutely nothing.

8. I'm with you. I agree 100 pct. This puts the whole invasion in a different
light.

5. Those who want to believe, will believe.
Those who want to believe this, will believe it. Those who don't, won't.

Perhaps it's some fiendishly subtle Rovian trap to get Kerry to repeat the allegations, which, even if true, most people will discount. I'm sure a lot of DU'ers will agree that Rove is capable of it. I certainly think it's as true as the fact that Kerry was in Cambodia.

10. PNAC/neoCONS want an ALL OUT WAR in the ME.
That's what they WANT. They've said so repeatedly. They need a JUSTIFICATION for that war. 9/11 gave them the justification for the first incursions--but they need more than that. They need a justification to USE TACTICAL NUKES. That is what they want. If they need to set up the conditions to create that justification, that is what they'll do.

This isn't 'tin foil hat' stuff. It is 'create a problem, offer the solution' business as usual.
