HOORAY!

Thanks, Dubya! I might even consider voting for ya...IF I HADN'T ALREADY VOTED AGAINST YOU!

HOORAY!

1. It's about the 10th time in the last 4 years it's hit 10,000.

How can anyone with an economic graph like this remain in contention for reelection?

OK, my graph won't post. But looking at an 80 year history of the Dow, you don't see many worse 4 year periods.

2. After Black Monday
Having lived thru black monday, I can't get excited about these 1/2 of 1 percent shifts in the DOW Industrials. Call me when it drops 25%

4. A few weeks ago, I heard an apologist using yet another "predictor"
that, when the DOW is up over 2 percent in the last 5 days before the election, the incumbent usually wins.

I was wondering why the dow went down below 10K just before this week. So that they can finish well below the 2000 hits and still say "See? It's UP!"

5. However, the dollar continues to fall against the yen
The yen is up 0.75 yen since yesterday, so it's going at the rate of nearly one yen per day. This is a very rapid rise.

6. Too little, too late- losing market under Bush and gas/fuel oil still high
I don't think the gas prices at pumps or the high fuel oil that people are having to buy now for cold weather will come down before the election, and the stock increase is just not enough to make Bushy a winner by any measure.
