Anyone see the editorial board of the WSJ on Charlie Rose last night?
War mongers, the lot of 'em. I just don't understand the mentality behind this paper. They sat there and stated unequivocally, that the invasion of Iraq was necessary and had it's full support. There was only four of them. Can't remember which ones. These kind of people make me feel so fringe and out of touch. They really make me question my thinking and wonder if I'm seeing something wrong. I just don't understand how, after everything that's happened, they can sit there with straight faces and still support this crap. It seriously turned my stomach. :puke:

1. There's absolutely nothing wrong with you
The WSJ has the most far-right editorial page in the mainstream US media. Just try reading the page once. It is so far right that it is comical.

The Journal is great with its news coverage. They're top notch. But I don't think that anyone, absent a few Atilla the Huns, take the page seriously.

I've been subscribing to the Journal for years, and read it every day.

4. Thanks.
I have tried reading the page. I can't get past the first few words of any piece. It was just interesting to see them all sit there and put faces and feeling to thier words. I knew how right the op/ed page but it was quite something to see them sit there lauding bush. I mean, who are these people?

2. I watched till nausea set in.
I agree with you. I thought to myself "Do those people live in the
same country as me"? They are like weird cult members; fanatical devotees of The Church of The Corporation.

Truly frightening.

5. Agreed.
Especially the one slender guy with the slick hair. He reminded me of the main charachter from "American Psycho".

Indeed frightening. I have no idea who those people are and have nothing in common with them.

3. They're capitalists.
Therefore, if empire is good for certain kinds of business, and it generally is, it's good for them. An oil empire is particularly good for business, because the economy can't withstand a price shock again.

The whole point of the invasion of Iraq was that we needed to control another 25% of the oil in the Middle East in the event that Saudi Arabia goes under to the anti-American fundamentalists, the ones the Saudi family is currently indoctrinating to ensure that the poor Arabians' hostility towards their poverty is deflected to the U.S. and the West, instead of their own billionaire asses. That's why 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis.

But, shh, it's our dirty little secret.

Republicans do the same thing, they just blame the UN and liberals.
