Got my little certificate all ready to push into the face of the Republican official on-site.
Went to our Dem meeting tonight and what they told us is: If there is a question about a voter being challeneged (provisional ballot, not allowed to vote, intimidation, etc.), we call the number they gave us and a lawyer is on hand. If necessary, the lawyer will get to the polling place to help out.
We give the certificate to the official and we can come and go as needed (sign in/sign out). There can be no more than two poll watchers per party at the polling place...but I'm not too worried about that requirement. As our chairman put it tonight, we're known as 'the most Republican county in the US'.
Other than that, we'll see. I don't anticipate any problems. I signed up to walk two precincts this weekend, took a whole bunch of signs for our candidates that I'll be planting in high traffic/high visibility locations, and promised to stick the Kerry/Edwards sign along with our other candidates 100.1 feet from the polling place. :)
