1. It's like kicking an addiction.
Though I did fall off the wagon and watch a few minutes of Countdown. I really can live without this sh*t.

and it has been wonderful - I may even give up my newspaper. Perhaps we can all become Luddites, just like the fools who voted for the ass.

4. Me neither. I will turn it back on when I hear that the Dems are telling
Bush to fuck off. I want to hear the words fillibuster, blocking judges, blocking nominations and making Kerry minority leader.

been doing the same thing and I like it. Probably if I'd been watching the corporate news I would have gone postal on my tv.

8. I haven't watched it since about 6PM on Election Night.
And I don't plan to. Now, when this all starts to unravel in a few years, I might tune in now and then.

But from now on, DU is my source for political news.

9. I've just been
listening to Air America since Tuesday. NO tv "NEWS" for me.

Actually, part of my reasoning is my pocketbook. I'm afraid that if I see the smirking fact on my teeveescreen, I might throw a brick through it, and I can't afford a new TV!!!

22. True.
During the campaign, I was relentless about phoning and writing the media to complain about the bias. I cheered whenever they would give us breadcrumbs.

No more.

16. me neither!!!
I feel so much better. Anxiety levels at an all time low. I've had the past few days off, so I've stayed on line, kept the tv on mindless stuff, movies, etc.

Actually, SciFi channel was showing a whole bunch of Nightstalker shows today, hadn't seen that in a while.

It's been great. Although, I haven't kept up with local news AT ALL, so for that, I do feel a little bad. Need to peruse the local tv channels online more frequently for that.

My wife an swore off the news if Kerry lost, we just can't bear it.

I can't believe I am so sad to say I moved back the the states from Japan in 98'...

..I only had 2 years of Clinton at the end...

Now I have to decide if I am going to move back.

24. I'm going cold turkey.
Not that it's that hard, since I didn't watch much to begin with. But I refuse to look at a live picture of the chimps ugly face smirking at everyone in his demonic glee. I just can't bear it.

25. I am also boycotting the news. Except for what I get here. This is
by far the best place for up to the minute news.

Other than watching the concession speach, my TV has been showing Tivo'd movies, and i spend ALL DAY today, playing my video game. Got to go back to work tomorrow.

Still sad, still mad, still feeling helpless, but I know that this to shall pass.

26. Neither have I
nor do I think I will. I'm going to check here, wire reports, antiwar.com, truthout, etc., and decide what to do from here. There is no real news on TV anymore. I just don't know what to do. You talk to people out there and try and tell them what is going on and they look at you like you are from Mars. Its like shouting in a wind tunnel.

28. I stopped watching the news years ago
I watched C-Span exactly 4 times this year. The 3 debates and election night. I believe it was a Rock band that got me to stop watching the news...
"I used to trust the media to tell us the truth,
tell us the truth.
But now I've seen the payoffs everywhere I look,
Who do you trust when everyones a crook?
Revolution Calling, Revolution Calling
Revolution Calling you..."
Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime, written in 84' I believe. They are on the road playing the entire album live again, catch it if you can...

My husband and I have religiously watched Aaron Brown every night at 10 pm for a while, but we've completely avoided watching it for the past two nights. Tonight we watched Survivor on tape instead - reality TV at its finest! ;-)

I can't watch the news anymore. If I do watch news anytime in the near future it will be CBS.

Will no longer watch MSNBC.

Will no longer watch FAUX ( I hardly ever did anyway).

Will no longer watch CNN.

Today I've been napping and eating chocolate. Just wish I hadn't weighed myself because I could live without knowing I've gained 2 lbs. in the las three days.

And we don't have any children.

It's an easy way to make sure we don't accidentally end up on one of those hideous channels!

Tried to watch my favorite Keith Olbermann, but found I couldn't even stomach that.

So I've become a news free zone for the time being. The only thing I've listened to is Air America.

It's funny, but I feel rather good not watching the media shills. I don't miss them either.
